You know, I just voted like ten minutes ago, and now I come back and the number of votes for the person I voted for has gone back down to the number it was on before I voted.  But I can't vote again; it says I already did.  Then where's my vote?

It's not. In fact I do it all the time. Some people like to know who voted for them for reasons unknown, probably so they know who to stalk.
