Your thread wasn't created early--the problem is that you were the one who made it.
Ah, that sounds meaner than I intended. Let me rephrase that: your topic doesn't have a poll, which voting requires (we don't do it the same way as nominations, nor do we private message the topic creator with our vote--no, we click a couple buttons to decide who wins POTM).
A proper POTM poll also has its results hidden until a set date, which is something only moderators can do. I suggest you read the POTM rules, but in case you don't feel like going through a couple bullets, here's the specific rules pertaining to this topic:
Quote
Up to 10 nominees (with the most nominations) will be included in a poll to be started by a POTM moderator after the nomination process is over.

A POTM mod starts the topic. There has been an exception to this rule, but because the topic was created by a normal member, the results were visible to anyone at any time, which is avoided for POTM. Futurefreak has stated that, if a mod is extremely late in creating a POTM poll, as they were last month, a member may be allowed to create a poll. However, the mods are not late this month (though they still have the potential to be), and your topic does not contain a poll at all.

[edit] Oh, it appears that a poll was added before I could send this, but I think I'll leave the message there all the same.
But see, now you've got the candidates all messed up. Nasty Pasty is not eligible for this month, as tnuk and futurefreak have already said. [/edit]

He could have put the poll hidden until expired and still can edit it so, I think.

Also, Nutmeg and Mr. Snrub are missing from poll.

Motor Oil's POTM voting thread stayed up, so why can't mine? Also, Nutmeg and Snrub only got one nomination. I was only counting members who got more than one. Duly noted about Pasty.

If you'd taken the time to read my thread—not even the entire thread, just one post below or above what I linked to, you'd have realized that it was not, in fact, a voting thread but a nomination thread. Because of the POTM mods' lateness, futurefreak decided to simply add a poll to my original post instead of creating a separate poll.
Last month's POTM business was messy, and should not be your example for future threads in this sub-board.

Heh, this is all my fault.

Cudry, you can't do these things without studying up on the rules beforehand, no matter how good your intentions. People have gone through the trouble to documents these guidelines so it's only fair that you read and follow them correctly.

Well, real voting threads created by non-moderators (Gorky, Bendersfan1221, etc.) have stayed up in the past, so my point still stands. Thanks for the words of advice though, you guys. :)

No, your point doesn't stand. If you actually bothered to look at Gorky's thread and her first couple posts in it, you'd see that she realized after creating the polls that she had broken the POTM rules. They were only allowed to stay up because a moderator came in and fixed the polls to have the results hidden. You'll then notice that she never made a poll again.

A moderator may come by and fix your poll. But that doesn't justify not following the rules. This time is fine because you made a mistake that others have made, and nobody's going to hold it against you. But now that people have informed you what the rules actually are, you have no reason to defend yourself.

No, it doesn't.
Gorky's thread did not abide by the rules, which was addressed a mere nine minutes after she opened the topic (by herself). A mod then updated the thread, making it suitable for POTM voting.  Bendersfan1221's thread was for nominations.
Any voting threads created by non-mods before Gorky's were created before the rules were put into effect.
I doubt your thread will be locked, but a mod will have to fix the post to make it a proper poll. It's inconvenient for everyone involved.

I'm voting for Motor Oil for what feels like the fourth month in a row. Maybe I'm just not a great judge of post quality.

Also I only just bothered to read the above comments, well, looks like the vote is for nowt anyway.

Like I've said, I don't think this thread will be locked, but a mod might have to adjust the poll to hide the results.
In any case, other people are voting and it looks like Cudry has recognized his sins, so I think it'll be okay to vote myself.
I went for Josh this time.

OK.  I'll vote, in case the poll runs its course.  I voted for the only one of my noms to make the poll:
