This reminds me of a great thread we had once on NoHomers called 'Does Dan Castellaneta still voice Homer', started by a newbie of course. The regular members had great fun giving ludicrous explanations to the question, until it was eventually locked by a mod. I'd tell VC what POTM stands for, but I'm living in hope that it might turn into another one of these running gags. Unfortunately, he probably already knows what it stands for by now, giving the name of the sub-forum and all.

What does POTM stand for?

In the Poster Of The Month forum, we crown the board's best posters for the month, and give them this coveted trophy. The brass trophy rotates on a wooden base as the iron core attempts to align with the Earth's magnetic field, and the speed of this is an indication of the strength of that field at any given time and location coordinates.

Therefore the acronym POTM obviously refers to PEEL's Omni-directional Tesla Measurer (Tesla being the SI unit for magnetic flux density). Being unable to deduce this from basic principles is the sort of thing that will keep you from winning it, Croc. I hope that you are as deeply ashamed to the core of your being as you ought to be.
