Why did we decide mods only should open polls?

Because it's a blind poll and only mods should be able to see the standings before it's over and if someone else starts the thread he/she can view the standings as well and could possibly influence it, especially if they're on the poll themselves.

That's a better turnout than some of the PEELie polls. Although they've not been up for very long. Theres a list of all the polls that are up, with links to each one. Except Honourable Mention. That's linked to from the appropriate thread in this subforum.

Actually with the activity of the PEELies one could argue that people have been notified to vote over there, and once in that forum they might notice a current Potm, because to have 26 votes by end of day 2 is pretty fast.

Indeed. In Fall Madness, most polls had around 30 votes by the end of the voting period, so having near that many at only Day 2 is a good sign in terms of getting people to notice POTM.

Actualmently I am kinda pretty hot right now, (in the sense of temperatureness), due to it for some reason being rather broiling in here - also I am wearing my flannelly pajama top - but I suppose I still do transcend that and do still ooze jiveyness, in any cakes.

Tylenol in high doses can shred your liver worse than Freako's, Nibbs!  It is toxic in higher doses, so please don't take more than the recommended dosage, especially for someone with a lower than average body weight.  Ask FYP for his opinion.  Ibuprofen (Motrin) is somewhat less toxic.  As is Naproxen Sodium (Aleve), my NSAID of choice.  I don't know the relative toxicities of ketoprofen, Celebrex, or Piroxicam.
