I agree with the 3 votes, but am not too fond of multiple nominations.

3 votes, no multiples because it just doesn't represent the populous...

Then you could also just make one nomination, it's not like you are forced to make 3 but max 3, right?

If we agree on 10 options on the poll, you need 5 candidate nominations just to get those 10 people with more than a couple votes. If we agree on <10 options on poll, like 7, then 3 candidate nominations would be fine. I still say no multiples. You could just get some newbies nominating themselves/bff 3 times and they'd make the poll.

Should self-nominations even be allowed though? I'd say no.

Agreed. A couple friends who join PEEL though would still be able to nom each other 3 times, which is why I dislike multiple noms.

Randi: That's true too.
Which brings me to the question, should posters who for example joined in May be allowed to nominated for the April POTM?

I mean nominating themselves for the past month before they joined.
Technically they don't know anything that took place in the past month.

New posters could have been lurking for over a month, making their nominations worthwhile. I say let them participate. Nobody should be allowed to nominate themselves.

Now I'm confused...booze do you mean nominating themselves before they joined PEEL, or nominating anyone altogether?
They shouldn't be able to nom themself either way. And others shouldn't be able to nom them for a month before they joined, obviously. But I don't see harm in them nominating others because as Xanfor said, they could have been lurking.

I mean, it's not likely this proposed noob would have enough quality posts in the 5 days after May starts to get enough nominations to get into the poll.

If you strongly feel like somebody should win, then don't use your other two nominations. There's never been a minimum amount of nominations that one person has to make; you could make just one. With the current/past rules, the best strategy if you strongly felt somebody should win was just nominating them and nobody else. A nomination to another just makes it less likely that your preferred choice will make the poll. I feel like that speaks more volumes than nominating the same person three times. Doing the latter just seems fickle and on par with self-nominating to me.
