The desperation is just leaking off of FHM.

Usually you would be correct.  But not this time...you all seem to complain about how POTM is not the same anymore and is not worth as much, yet no one seems to actually do anything about it.  I thought with the talk winna, weiner, and a few others were doing, that things would be going for the better.  But things seem to be even more crazy.
Frankly, the PEELies seem to be a bigger honor.

Actually, you're wrong there, and I can prove it. The poll is based on people's opinions, for a start. Not facts. Therefore the poll is perfectly capable of presenting a skewed picture, if not of outright lying.

Secondly, those five votes you recieved may have come from one of the following sources:

• People who dislike the people who dislike you.
• People who feel sorry for you, because nobody can see how hard the poor troll is actually trying to make us all laugh (any1else).
• People who have terrible opinions and who really ought to have their Opinion Gland extracted (JoshTheater).
  
• People who voted for you purely to be controversial, polarising, polemic, or just plain ornery (winna).

I really wouldn't want those votes behind my name. I really wouldn't be able in good conscience to use those votes as "I am better than [[x]]" fuel.

I'm perfectly able to accept the following:

• You are more popular than me. I've never had mass popularity here. I'm not that fussed about it. I'm too argumentative and bristly to be popular.
• You have an incredibly high opinion of yourself, which I may well be unable to deflate or bring down.
• You may one day win POTM.
• Lists are brilliant.

I can make peace with those things. You're entitled to this "I am better than  [[x]]" mentality, but just remember that public opinion is fickle, and wont to change suddenly and unexpectedly. Popularity can be brief. The currents of tolerance for one like yourself can dry up and disappear without warning, so enjoy then whilst they are there.

You are not seeing things from multiple perspectives, you are seeing through only one and assuming it to be justifiable simply because it is the opposite of the one held by the person with whom you disagree. Let us observe how this whole exchange started, shall we?

What the hell, what have I ever done to you? Screw you man/woman, whatever the hell you are. I don't have to take that from some little insignificant poster who didn't even make the final 10.

FHM states that Super Hans does not deserve to win, and is rewarded with the above. The above is not nice, it is not civil, and it most certainly is not an obvious joke. It is a direct insult made by Super Hans towards someone who voiced the opinion that out of every person who posted this month, Super Hans was not greatest. FHM said absolutely nothing mean or unkind, and yet (s)he was forced to be at the recieving end of this idiotic diatribe which doesn't even serve any useful purpose except indicating either malicious intent or cognitive disability.

Jeez do yo ever take the time to crawl out of Tnuk's ass? Thats all in the past, right now I am beating him and thats all that matters. Besides winning it once in 10 years is nothing to brag about. I'm pretty sure that if I had been around for 10 years or so like tnuk, I'd probably have won the thing at least 20-30 times by now. Thats probably a conservative estimate too.

Now witness what has occurred. Yes, there probably is some humor to be seen here (the majority of it unintentionally self-depreciating), but look at how it was implemented: with the sole goal of putting down totalnerduk. It isn't his boasting that Bend-err decries angrily in his reply later on, it is Super Hans' blatant disregard for someone most of us respect. Someone who has done far more to improve and make enjoyable this forum than he himself ever has. A friend to many of us who is being unfairly targeted!

Yes, they don't like each other. But only one of them has tried to avoid actively provoking a conflict, and it isn't Super Hans.

In conclusion, Super Hans is a highly provoking individual, and anyone standing up in his defense ought to realize this before placing accusations on those who are offended, annoyed, or otherwise ticked off by his comments.
