Refresh my memory, if you will.  Are we currently using the "PEEL free-for-all" rules, where anyone can win in any month?  Or have we gone back to the "win only one time in your life" rules?

I say free-for-all, but only because I myself nominated someone who's already won. Besides, who's to say that a previous month's PotM is not, in fact, also worthy this month?

Personally, I think making the list should depend on the number of people who nominated you, rather than on the number of nominations you received.

Thus any silliness that might arise from nominating someone 3 times, 9000 times, or even 'infinity' times could be avoided but then I think the nominations should be limited to people who, you know, actually posted during the month in question, so what do I know? [shrug]

Anyhoo, here's my list:

   • any1else - "I thought I was perverted just for having breasts, but this…"

   • Sir Wankalot - Because the more things change the more they stay the same.

   • Freddy Phelps - Because that sort of thing should be discouraged in the strongest possible terms!

and last but certainly not least…

   • . - The account name says it all, really.

It can't.

I mean, the whole ordeal is "poster of the month", in other words, you can only win once per month!  I mean, what if your posts are awesome all the time, then you are technically poster of the month every month?

It just goes to show that the other posters need to up their game.

Yes.. i agree its ok to prevent people being like Homer waiting to win employee of the month because everybody else had allready and prevents people voting other just because they had not won yet..

Problem is when people vote other people not just because they posted great posts.. but because they are "old peelers" or like them more ..
The removal the poll current status before voting was proof of that..

Well, maybe you should make the whole thing automatic.  By instead of voting for posters, we vote for posts.  And those who have the most great posts become poster of the month.

Or perhaps, you could allow every posts to have a rating, and then the one who had the best ratings on their posts from the prior month became that month's poster of the month.

But hey, so many ways to make it automatic, it almost makes me silly.

I really ought to make a poll at some point--seeing as how it is necessary to perpetuate the belief that PotM is, y'know, important--but we seem to have a lot of people tied for the last spot on said poll. So we either need some more nominations; or, we can have, like, a no-holds-barred, 17-way contest between PEELers and call it the Rumble in the PEELin' Jungle or something.
