Also, do we have to type out the whole name of the award, or can we just put what it's for?  (most missed, spammiest, etc...)

Of course not, and as a counter I would appreciate if you didn't use the full name.

As long as it's entirely clear what award you're referencing, that's fine.

Fixed. Sorry. Blame Xanfor. It's almost his fault. But if you're going to blame him, then thank him for naming the others first.

And yes. To further elaborate on what Bend-err said:

The email located in my signature is the one for PEELies. Make use of it if you're not comfortable with everyone knowing who you think is annoying or PILF or whatever.

Only us helper-elves can read it. It's okay.

And yes, email format:

Subject: username.
Main text: includes nominations in correct format as highlighted in the first post

Please stick to this. I'm good with organisation but putting things in wrong places accidentally frustrates me. And I may throw my laptop if that occurs.

2) FHM

The BirthdayClown Memorial Award for Most Annoying PEELer

Unfortunately KingZoidy wasn't around in 2010, so we can't count that vote, lemily, but I'm glad you recognise how annoying that particular user has been.

Nibbs: you can't nominate yourself, silly.

You should nominate me for that award instead. :)

Does it matter if when we send you the noms, the awards are in a different order than what is displayed at the top of the page (as long as they are clearly titled)?

By the Xanfor title, is n00b of the Year supposed to be a "negative" award? Or is "Spammiest" supposed to take that place? I was just wondering for clarifying purposes.

Also, love that mentioning Philip Seymour Hoffman has returned to PEEL.

Noob of the year is positive. Spammiest is negative.

That's the way we're choosing to view it.

I think it's kind of a tradition to have multiple noms. I'm counting them anyway, as long as they don't appear to make a massive difference (i.e. one person got five noms only from one person - another got four from different people) I don't see the harm, in including them.

I've always viewed the mentioning of Nibbler's Shadow as an exasperating yet endearing action on the part of new posters, especially in earlier years. So the way I view it, it's naïve, but positive.

Also, I think I'll skip on nominating for the majority of the awards this time, seeing as how I was absent for most of the year. I'll just stick with my three Best N00b selections made here.

Gee, how nice, that way everyone in on-topic can be appreciated with one single category..If these were real awards, you guys would be getting sued. Or, like...there'd be people picketing outside the place where the award ceremony was going to be held with signs like "Recognise our individual talents or we'll cut ya".  Not very creative, I know, but they didn't have much time to prepare.

There's no 'best picture/photo' category?

Indeed, so once they take a more active roll on the board maybe they get acknowledged for it ;)

When I started, I was a purely On-topic poster for a bit...then I asked around about getting more involved, was referenced to Off-topic, and then was converted to the dark side.  :evillaugh:

I think it's kind of a tradition to have multiple noms. I'm counting them anyway, as long as they don't appear to make a massive difference (i.e. one person got five noms only from one person - another got four from different people) I don't see the harm, in including them.

I do think it makes a difference.  And while the nominating 1 person multiple times is a tradition, it also seems these "votes" are counted as one.  Countless times on the POTM nominations, someone will vote for a person 3 times...yet when it is all tallied, this still counts as a single nom from an individual.
Think about it, in this set-up, if someone has 2 friends nom them 5 times each for an award, that is 10 nominations.  Someone else could have 4 people nom them for an award a single time, yet they would still be behind by the considerable margin of 10-4 even though they have gotten nomed by more individuals 4-2.  When we get to the voting stage, you can't vote for someone 5 times; so if we are reducing each category down to just the top 3 nom getters, I think this style of noming plays a huge deal in the overall results for who/what is included.

FHM: Hence I said I would be considering all of that when I'm tallying up the votes. If you have received a staggering number of votes for "Spammiest PEELer" from one person, but then someone else received the same number of nominations from several different people, I'm obviously going to take that into account.

Don't worry about how things are being tallied. Leave that to me and my spreadsheets.

No, that's clearly PILF.
It's a play on "MILF," which stands for "Matronly Individual Looking Fetching."

Yes it does.

Awright, nominating will end on Sunday, so get nominations in before then, please.

The more people take the time to nominate, the better the voting will be.
