Now that FireFox supports active bookmarks, we should have a PEEL RSS feed. Imagine that, knowing the latest posted-in threads with a single click at the top of your browser. Of course there'd have to be separate ones for off-topic and the rest. Damned if I want to know what those banal shippers and fan-artists are posting about..

Then again, the old girl probably wouldn't have a hack that supported such a feature. Oh well.

Hey now.. no getting personal...

No time to debug it now. If it's broken, wait till Sunday. If it's not broken, ontopic will follow Sunday

Hmm, didn't occur to me that it could be construed as meaning you. Obviously I meant the UBB standard, not your good self.

Yeah... that's exactly what I meant.. *shifts eyes*

Just a small question: Can I get my username changed to RavenStar without reregistering? Cuz I've been trying to reregister for about 10 minutes, but every time I've hit 'submit registration' on the register page, it goes to a blank white page and then nothing freaking happens.

Sorry Slay, but you have to reregister.  For example, when Nixorbo reregistered when he modded, he lost his post count and rankings.  Your name isn't that bad anyway.

I know my name ain't bad. But I've had it for too long. I'm bored with it. I don't care about rankings at all.

edit: I could change my name if I didn't just get a dead page after clicking the "submit registration" button.

You want to change your name from something cool and memorable to something flatter than piss on a plate?

Hell, you're the boss or whatever....

I'm just bored of 'SlaytanicMaggot.' I've used it forever. It's time for a change. Just like in the white house, it's time for a change.

Keep in mind, practically all new features will have to be manually implemented by mArc. Writing new code, weeding out bugs, etc. Lots of work and if the result isn't that important, he'll probably decline.

That said, I have no idea how much work your idea will require.

Yes, it's too much and it doesn't really matter. You'd have to be a fan of a certain PEELer in able to fully utilize that tool and that's kind of creepy to be following someone like that  :hmpf: Quit the ideas jerkberg. People would have responded positively if they were good, which they didn't, so either come up with something better or drop it.

Why are most of the Cheesy Slogans mostly from "Kif Gets Knocked Up A Knoch"?

Will anybody mind if I upload three or four signature images?  I wouldn't use them all at once, of course, I'd just like some variety.  Plus I just figured out how to use paint properly, thanks to the fact that FemJesse needs simple macroeconomics explained with colorful pictures.

You might try to upload 4 different images, but as long as they are all in the same filetype Peel will overwright them with every upload you do.  ;)

you can have: (00005290 is your member-id)

one 00005290.gif,
one 00005290.jpg and
one 00005290.png.

Not more!  :)

The rules for all three types are the same:
 • witdh : max 450
 • height : max 120
 • filesize : max 16kb
 • not havyly animated

I'm not sure if that's entirely necessary though. I've seen evolving Nix signatures over time with more than one picture. Unless he clustered them into one and made it a transparent background. It could be a simpler process than that.

I have a sig.gif and a sig.jpg.

Sometimes I combined two pictures into the same image.

A little bump with a question / suggestion:

Is it possible to deactivate the e-mail notification on new posts once a thread is started?

If not, can it be implemented? Perhaps as an option while editing the opening post?

Me and my amazing lack of computer knowledge have a question. I want to be able to post images, and here are the instructions according to the PEEL FAQ -

{IMG}http://www.yoururl.com/image.gif{/IMG}

My question - what goes in the "image" bit and how do you know what it is just browsing through images on a webpage?

Well into the "image" bit as you called it belongs only the path to the image itself.

This means that your

should not contain the page "maddox.xmission.com/images/pirate.html" but the url to the image.
This you'll get by right clicking on the picture (if possible) and viewing its properties.

something like

I got a suggestion, I don't know if this was ever discussed before. I'm in a bit of a hurry and don't have time to read 3 pages of thread. If it was already discussed - ignore.

"It's got a TV" is currently about TV show and movies. As I understand, this is supposed to be the "Entertainment-related" forum. But currently you're ignoring a large entertainment form, which is video games, computer games and such. Just a thought.... why not add it to the "it's got a TV!"?

You could create an extra two forums in offtopic, one for music related, and one for gaming related.

One other thing I'd seen on another forum, and an answer to the spamming in certain threads, like Test thread.  Is that to have posts within these threads not add to the post count.  One of the other forums I'm on has a "silly" forum for goofing around in, and none of the posts in there add to anyones post count.

Is that something which is doable?

I'm not sure that music/games require a forum each, perhaps those things should be included in the tv/films forum as they are all entertainment, although not being in to music or games I might be wrong about how much there is to say about them  :p

I'm not sure if a test thread where posts don't count would make that much difference, while spammers like their post counts they also enjoy posting a lot and that is the real problem  :hmpf:

Music and games threads get coupled into the offtopic... I suppose being in the tv area might make more sense, but on the whole at least there is a place for them.  It also isn't like people fill up the threads so fast that they'd need an entire forum dedicated to either of them, we'd just end up with game specific threads and song artist specific threads, which doesn't seem like it would really add up on the whole any better...

As far as that spam = no post count go up, I'm pretty sure that is highly not doable.  Even if it was, you'd have to talk marc or andie into working on the board to make it a reality... all I can say is good luck with that  ;)
