I don't think that was the extent of it.  Nurdy uses aol, so his ip address could have been any random whatever from wherever, which just happened to be similar in nature to someone who deserved to be banned.

Also, he never bitched on PEEL about being on PEEL.

Never actually suggested anything but I thought it might be cool to see more ranks but if it's too much hassle for moderators (or Marc or whoever does it) then don't bother. I just thought it might be cool :) Oh and I thought DOOPS should have more stars instead of just the one medal cos' it doesn't look right. It should be more flashy stars is a higher person in the board if that makes sense.

Thanks to anyone who reads this.

Yeah seriously, any idea that could possibly be suggested has probably been.  On top of that, any real fix to PEEL would mean a totally complete revamp of the system, which none of the administrators are willing to go through.  And believe me, I understand what that could possibly undertake.

Pah. Complete re-vamp my arse. It would mean locking off "Old PEEL", and instituting "New PEEL", moving "Old PEEL" and all the locked content to www.peelified.com/oldPEEL  or something. Of course, if mArc or slimmy were to do it (or make somebody else do it), PEEL would be able to support more moderators, more such ad-hoc requests, more deleting of posts/threads that are taking up bandwith for no reason, and just... more. But they are both to pushed for time to be able to sit down together and re-create PEEL from the ground up. A re-vamp would be simple by comparison.

kip and speli were banned 4-5 months ago and their accounts deleted. I guess the old UBB code caused some hickups in the process, so every once in a while you'll see something like this on speli or kip's old posts. Mostly kip, speli is mostly listed as unregistred (see the dirty boy thread in off-topic for an example).

I think it's just that after an account is deleted, the name is free for use again. Someone just regisered as Kip again, but didn't post.

Every post by the "old" Kip is now made by the new one, even though the post count isn't showing.

I know that, since I noticed the name showing on the bottom of the main page, when the new Kip registerd. (Was about 2 weeks after the old one got deleted as I recall)

No you can't. However you can sign up again with a different name and start all over new again.

In case you do that, I recommend you to mail the admins (especially mArc) first, because they don't like it if people have multiple accounts.

You know dawoodz. Now that I have been here for 2 years I can understand why people like Nix, Teral, Tweek, VelourFog and such are tired of talking about it.
Two years ago I was one of the people complaining about it as well, since then I have seen a lot of threads being made about that topic and a lot of discussion being held, that in the end never led to a real solution. The most prominent thread I remember is this here: The end of Spam and Threadclones, but of course there are others as well, they are pretty much redundant though.

You guys have a warped definition of spam, I think.

Spam to me is someone starting a thread and just saying oipwer4jtoiwjt90jkw09tjk3w094 tk039wj8t9047t9805ut90 or something like that.

You know what would be cool?
If there was like a little flag that went underneath a persons name to show what country they're from.
I doubt it will happen. Just a suggestion

Actually, I like that idea. That's a better idea than "Change 'Raging Bender'" or "Get rid of teh n00bsss!!11!1" I don't know how that could be done, though. Possibly part of the avatars.

That would have to be done in the database with an extrafield for the nationality. Plus a new table to say what flag belongs to what nationality. Then it would be needed to read out these extra information evertime a thread or profile gets displayed. Of course the scripts that generate the thread and profile Html pages would have to be changed as well.

Nice suggestion indeed, but it'll need quite some work to implement and it'll need all PEELers to actually set their nationality in their profiles.

Changing the "Raging Bender" thing might be easier there, but even that won't be done. And if getting rid of "teh n00bs" is becoming a premise of an admin or moderator of a message board like PEEL you might as well close it down all together in my opinion.

Just as true here, as in the Complaints thread. Stop telling the moderators which members "needs" to be banned, they already know. Besides if you really think Nix or VF or even Tweek is going to start listening to member advice on how and when to do their job, you haven't been paying attention.

Yes, you need to save it in gif format.

I only know Paint Shop Pro 7. When you save a picture as a gif there's an option to set a specific color as transparent (and a tolerance setting so that colors varying from the chosen color by 1%-99% are also made transparent).

Long story short:

Doublepost to test transparency:

Some pixelation in there, but I suspect they're from the original scan.

This is probably a dumb question, but:
If I change my password, will I get another quickpost 'username & password' cookie?

I looked down to page 5 of this thread, but I couldn't find it.

If your browser is set to save the cookies then it'll remember it and write it into the already existing one for "www.peelified.com".

I have a question. I recently changed my email address. I'd like to change it on here to, but a couple people on here told me that after they changed thier password they never got an activation code sent to them. So they couldn't use thier account anymore. So does it really do that? or if I change my email will I get the activation code?

The two times I changed my email, I got the new password within a couple of minutes. The other examples sound like a glitch. They're sure they checked the new address? Not the old one?
