Commie Detecor, Originally posted by JBERGES: That's like asking how old a person must be before they're no longer considered 'immature.' Sure, general trends can show that as you get older you're less likely to be immature; but on a whole, it's about attitude and personality; anyone at any age can be immature.
So is it with posting. Sure, most people with higher post counts aren't newbs, but there are plenty that cavort around this place like imbeciles even though they've passed Professor (1000 posts). ‘Newb’ is a manner of presenting yourself. If a member responds intelligently to their new surroundings, has useful input, and follows the rules, I will never consider them a newb, even if they’ve only posted once or twice. Read this: It isn't how new or old you are to PEEL or what your rank is, it's about how you contribute to discussions.

I don't know if anyone would have the time to do this, but I think it would be a good idea if someone could make an 'Avatar Upload' thing when you change your profile.
It would be much more easier an efficient. People wouldn't have to wait for there Avatar to be put into the pool etc. They could do it in their own time.

Okay, this may be dumb, but could I start a General Discussion Thread? A place where you could discuss Futurama topics that don't deserve their own thread. Would that be okey-day if I made that, or if somebody else did? Thanks

That was where I got the idea. I don't think the 'whatever you want to call it' threads are that chaotic. The GD thread may also stop other crappy threads being started Like this

I thought we could do with one because there have been a lot of dumb threads made recently. When I saw Bf's crud OFF TOPIC THREAD it made me think that I'd better ask first. And thats how I got here...

Well people have tried this before, not even that long ago. Like many regular PEELers like Teral, the mods and me have noted back then is that it is doomed to fail, like this example did: The Annoying Little Futurama Question ThreadThe reasons are stated in it as well, here is the post Teral made which covers it: Originally posted by Teral: No, it have something to do with people not knowing it exist. Believe me we've had dozens of these type of threads over the years and none of them work, because they don't get enough posts to stay on page 1. Which means that these threads simply get out of people's and especially newb's eyes, because it gets pushed down and then to page 2. you might add that why it couldn't be some kind of thread sticked to the top. Ok, the answer is quite easy: PEEL doesn't support these So in conclusion: The idea is good and has been started before, but then again doomed to fail.
