precisely...wait.no.it would be good for the people who have questions and instead of annoying people they could just do them there

Hey n00b boy!

Someone in GD started a thread specifically for that. Asking all your questions if you're new. It probably won't get used though, knowing the nature of new members. In fact, that's the way they work. They don't know their questions or how to use this forum because they are new. So let them be new. Hopefully they'll figure things out for themselves. Stop pushing board politics on us like you actually matter.

oh wow! you've posted lots, that makes you so important and smart. more like you're a dumbass. go be a dumbass elsewhere dumbass. there may be a topic where you can post that, but do people use it??? or do they just start new ones. i was just suggesting something, it doesn't mean you have to come in and talk you're all big and good, because you aren't.

Which people do they annoy? Certainly not me.

Edit: and a quick count show exactly 9 threads in the last 7 weeks containing what you describe as "stupid questions from noobs". Hardly overwhelming.

In the Human Resource Department, in the poll from the thread “Colour of Bender” I voted and straight after it did show that I voted then. But when I returned to the poll some time later it’s shown on the section for other is 0 percent, which is where I voted! When I tried again it says you already voted! I am wondering what is going on?

Did you refresh the page another time after you voted? Sometimes your browser doesn't refresh it correctly.

Try the Key-combination "ctrl + F5", that lets the browser refresh the cache as well.

edit: it's ctrl, not cntr...

Right, it works now! Thanks GFF! You should pursue a career in multimedia; you seem to be good at this stuff!

I think we should have custom ranks. Also we could chose how many stars but it has to be less then 7. Also we could make our own pictures of stars and upload them for the stars   :D

Some people DO have custom ranks, like GFF, FishyJoe, and Teral, to name a few. They're something you earn at PEEL, and I don't think that's about to change. It's not all that bad of an idea, but [-mArc-] would have to implement it manually, and I don't think he'd go through all that work if we don't absolutely need something.

The ranks at PEEL are more so that you can tell at first glance how active somebody is.

Anyways, welcome to PEEL, CFG.  :D This is the official unofficial FAQ. Read it, live it, love it.

But interestingly that most of the people with custom titles don't post nearly as much as the one's who dont.   :p

Did that even make sense? I wasn't talking about custom ranks, there. I was saying that the standard ranks on PEEL are there so that you can tell how active somebody is.

That's not true.  Everyone with a custom title has posted more than you Nasty   :p

Most custom titles were given randomly, either by mArc or slimmy (weirder ones are probably slimmy... except bra party leader, that's a definite marc one there); except jeff... who actually earned his in contest to get a custom title.  I was one of the losers in said contest   :(

Also, I'm betting that most anything anybody comes up with (whether useful or not) won't be implemented in PEEL anytime soon.  Marc and andie are far too busy to mess with the board for most anything.

Edit: Ranks tell how much a person has posted... but there are some people who are very inactive that have say... liquid emporer, because they posted a lot in one month, which makes them spam monkeys (kinda like you Nasty ;)).  There are other people who have a very low rank, but are fairly active and have been here a long time... mostly because they only post when they have something useful to contribute... silly idea no?

I have an idea! Since all threads in Recheck/Weird Scenes are just about one tiny thing, I propose that instead of a whole section dedicated to tiny errors, we have a thread in General Discussion.

ICQ, like AIM, is an Instant Messaging program - a program to chat 1:1 with other people.
ICQuses numbers to identify their users, AOL Instant Messenger uses names for that. Both use the same network, though.

No-one would use it, because if it wasn't on the main page, no-one would know about it. Definitly not the newbies.
You'd find that, that thread will get buried, then general discussion will be flooded with people who've just noticed Nibbler's shadow for the first time.

[Sarcasim]WHAT!? NIBBLER'S SHADOW!? WHERE!?[/Sarcasim]

I haven't posted or been on PEEL as long as, say, GFF or Rage, but I've put in my fair share of posts and have been quite active. In fact, I've posted about 18 times per day, and not spamming posting, but like in games and other threads in Gen. Dis. and Off. Top. To that, I like the rankings the way they are. A system to edit the look of your stars would be kinda cool, but would have to put in a few good hours by marc and PEEL to be down for those hours.

not only that, it would require uploading different gifs to represent each type of star, right now the uniform look is good in my opinion... feb 2005 and ur a starship captain?

I still think something should be done about that section. It's the saddest thing since Old Yeller died.
How about a system where there's only one topic in that forum? Wouldn't that save some money/space?
Forgive me if that was the stupidest thing you've ever heard, 'cause I'm clueless about this but still want to offer suggestions.

The only way to save money [basically] is to reduce the number of active members. Reducing space used etc. isn't an issue.

The Admins hand them out when they believe somebody deserves them.

Note that over 95% of us will never, ever have one, snd begging makes the chance even slimmer.

for the rest of us, the greatest honor one can achieve will be urban legend... or maybe space pope is it?  i'm not sure that is a rank normal posters can achieve... i'm not post happy, and i've stayed a bending unit for a while... doesn't matter to me, i think i'm active

Huh? The highest rank that anyone has reached so far is called the DOOP Secretary. There might be more. They're just eerily high.

It isn't supported by UBB 5.45, and I very much doubt even mArc's bastardized version of the program can make it work.

When you create a thread you have the oppurtunity to get email notifications when new posts are added, but that's it.

Besides it's much easier just to check the thread.
