Thats what I'm complaining about; I made my first comics and I have no place to post them.

That's why the thread was closed: You shouldn't post them.

I'm getting fed up with people making a quote then just adding the word "second", if an argument has been made it doesn't need repeating, the seconder could make his/her own justification for there opinion, or not post at all if it is identical to the previous poster.

I'm almost certain that someone will second that opinion.

And to Lampy: The Comics thread was closed because Guinneapig Trick and Ooy spammed it up. I have been careful to not make my comics spam, so there should be no problem with them.

You could always link it in the test thread, if you're that desperate for it to be seen.

Basically it's spam masquerading as debate.  A lot of "quote someone then tag on a glib comment" posts are.  There's the "Sure, why not?" posts, the "A little from Column A, a little from Column B" posts, not to mention the "Wizards" posts which spam up the threads on the Wierd Scenes boards.  None of them add any insight or discussion points to the thread, they're just there to make the PEELer in question feel clever.

Another practise that's becoming increasingly common is to quote someone, mutate the quote into a so-called joke, then add the word "FIXED" at the end.  It was funny the first few times it was used, but like PEEL comics and PEELodies, the joke wears thin after a while.

I would also like to suggest that you can't quote pictures anymore. You don't need to quote the picture to make a comment about it. It just takes up screen space.

You're already not supposed to quote pictures.

Lampy, I put down the "no quoting pictures" rule years ago.  I edit them out whenever I find them.

9th post up from the bottom of the page

I tend to avoid pic-heavy threads nowadays due to a crappy, crappy connection.

I can see why the old thread got shut down. Basically its just people flaming each other.

And thanks for the tip, Melllvar. I'll try doing that.

Only yesterday I edited one out, and that was from somebody who has been here about four years, some people just ignore the rules  :nono:

I think we need to stop the sudden surge of best (blank) movie threads in the TV forum. Taking up way too much space.

I say let them play out. There are a lot now, but there seems to be some legitimate posting going on. It's not getting too ridiculous.

Edit--ok, nevermind. I just saw the Best Will Smith Movie thread. I guess that is pretty ridiculous.

Once again, fryfanSpyOrama continues on his brave journey to bump dead threads for no reason!

And remember when he started all those "Best of" polls? Well, here's his explanation...

That's a poor excuse on it's own, but do you know what makes it worse? Most of those threads wouldn't even be there if he hadn't bumped them for no reason!

Now look at this...

How come every time I do a search for a topic, it says the last person who posted(or whatever it is) on every topic is Faze Shift?

Because there was a bug and it really liked Fazeshift.

Should now show the person who started the thread (at least for newer threads).

PEEL does seem somewhat slow but with a little patience pages load and posts are made.

There was a problem on the server. I fixed the symptoms for now (eg, should be fast again), but I didn't really check where it came from. Might've just been server-hiccups.

The thread "edna or umbriel who do you think is the one for you?" is spammy, vulgar and useless. It needs to be closed. [And I'm not just saying that because they're talking about Edna 'sucking golf balls through garden hoses', I'd say the same if the discussion were about any two characters.]

Enough with the downlooking upon others. You can do that all day, but don't post it on PEEL.

The thread is borderline. It doesn't belong to the Computer help thread as that is used for computer problems. He didn't have a problem.

It's a bit narrow with only two browsers discussed and better answers can be found on mozilla.org and their forums (also regarding the bugs it still has, they are quite open).
