I cannot for the life of me find a button to log in.  Why is there not an obvious one on top of every page?

Go to "preferences" and you can set the program to always log you in when you return (through a cookie).

Otherwise the log-in thingy is next to the quickpost window and in the reply window.

Edit: welcome to PEEL. Enjoy it here.

Would it be possible to have a login on the homepage? It would just be more convenient for people who don't have cookies enabled (or just have cookie problems like me)...

What for exactly? You are logged in when you post. When in public places, you can delete the session cookie using the prefs.

While you're adding a login button to the home page, how about putting complementary mints on the pillows?

Enable permanent cookies then if you want that feature.

To make it clear: I'm not going to implement these things at the moment unless there's an urgent need. I have a few other things to do, too.

davids, it's not neccessarily new features.  It could mean that mArc is trying to fix a problem with PEEL to try and prevent another crash.  Or he's spending time with edel.  Or he's searching down the side of the sofa to find the money to pay for PEEL.

I'd like to see someone try to fill Marc's shoes.  It's unpossible.

I thought this was a stupid idea at first, but I can see it has its merits, because I've been using public computers lately, since I'm away from home.  The current system is odd, because you have to post to log in.  So if I want to see the pulldown menu for my responses, I have to post even if I don't want to.  And you don't get a cookie when you edit a post or vote in a poll, you actually have to go spam the Yankees thread.  That probably doesn't go far to make this worth implementing, though.

You don't necessarily have to post anything.  You can sign in using the profile button, and then just submit your unchanged profile.  Viola! you're logged in.

So there we have it, either sign in via your profile as Boingo suggests or post a message  :)

No more discussion needed  :)
