I've just checked my email, and supposedly I've got emails from Kryten, Shadowstar and someone called q-bert, all from different email addresses. I also had some more from people who I've never even heard of before, and all of them said the same thing, nothing. They all just had some attachment, but I couldn't get the ones I tried to work anyway. Is someone pretending to be other PEELer's or what? what's going on? Anyone else had these?

Also, I checked Kryten's email address in his profile, and it was exact same one. But if someone else sent it, how?

Uh...sounds like a (poorly programmed and disguised) virus, to me. Maybe those people have you in their address book? That's usually the first place viruses turn to when they want to spread.

And you do know that you can send an e-mail but change the "from" address to a different address than the one you're sending? (I do that since I use Freeserve to recieve messages, but not a Freeserve connection, so I have to send messages through MyRealBox).

It's a new wave of email virus that's been growing the last couple of days. Don't try to open the attachements, it'll activate the worm.

I've had emails from drippy, Impossible and Sebastian and Graham from TLZ.

If they're around 100 kb in size, and have a weird subject line like "re: your details", "Re:wicked screensaver", etc it's probably a virus.

See the virus thread in off-topic. for more information.

If you see any e-mails with RE: in the topic, they're almost always spam, it's weird the way it all works.

I advise the simple common sense, no-one is going to send you screensavers via e-mail.

That and if you use outlook, it's useful to turn off message preview (Or set it so you have to hit space to download), and then Right-Click->Properties on these e-mails.

Yeah, that's exactly what I've been getting, about 100 kb's in size with those type of headings. Sounds like the same persons been sending crap to both of us, and probabaly more as well. Thanx for the warning though  :)
