You should have moved this marc, I wanted to discuss more and thank you for the reasonable response

Marc just locked my topic where I linked to a torrent for an MP3 of Fry's Opera that I made and I guess that left me a bit unclear on the rules. I didn't think that posting links to clips of episodes was bad, especially since CGEF hosts giant image archives of episodes (enough in which you could probably reconstruct an entire episode) in addition to audio files of songs in the episodes. Is there a certain length when a clip no longer becomes a clip? I guess I'm just unclear on the rules.

A good third of the episode is too much. I can't give you exact length numbers now but you'll notice that CGEF does not have this extra long song up. The last thing we need now is a C&D to PEEL.
I don't feel like haggling about it, so I'll close this one again.
PS: this topic shouldn't be in this forum in the first place.

I understand how the rules on clips are supposed to work (don't be a jerk and make it too long) but I'm just wondering what the lawyers have to say. I'm sure at least one CGEF staffer spoke to someone at FOX about the materials presented on this site.
PS: The opera after cutting is just under a quarter of the episode (4:03) without commercials. Just FYI.
