Since I'm new here (lurked for an evening) I'm not completely sure of the rules, but...

In the fanart/fanfic forum, does the 'anything' include music videos? Because they're the only sort of creative thing I've been able to make for months, and I just made my first Futurama one.

REally? Well I think that may very well violate copywrite. But Just post it and then see what the mods say, I wanna see it.

Technically, fanfic violates copywrite. If it turns out that it does violate it, I'll probably have to place a disclaimer saying A) Anyone wanting to download it must already own the song used, and B) They must own all the episodes from where I got the clips (with a list of episodes).

However, if I can't get it to upload...which it's looking like...then I 'spose I can send it through MSN. If I can't upload it.

I was trying to upload it to a Yahoo!group so I didn't have to remove stuff from my personal space.

I ended up removing some of my personal space.

It's Where Did You Go by Motor Ace. I doubt anyone here'd know about the Stargate vids I've done, but I've already done two vids to Motor Ace... *sigh* I need more music.

Hold up, I'm on a cruddy modem.

My Stargate vids are here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hejvidsgate1/

The t.A.T.u. vid doesn't work, and neither does the link to the one on my personal space. Take a wild guess as to why.  :)

You join the group (need a Yahoo id) and go ino the files section.

And no. It's paid through the ads displayed in messages. But of course, are there messages?

And my vid's finally up. Any future vids I make, I'll announce them in the right section. I just didn't see the point in making a new thread when I still doubt I'm following the unwritten rules.

If you want it, send me an email - hejjo@iprimus.com.au - and I'll send you the link.

Ok:
a) Fan-videos are allowed
b) Don't need a disclaimer
c) Don't use Yahoo groups, get some webspace and use that.

The reason All this Copywrite Rigmarol is observed is because some (So i assume marcs) Web providers forbid illegal Stuff to be hosted.
So its just to be sure.
Protection agencies can be quite ruthless and when Copywrite is violated they try and get the site totally taken down.
It happened to someone i knew because of some Spiteful Beeyatch with nothing better to do.

I have a question... would asking about what people use to get MP3's over the net be counted as download questions? It isn't about Futurama, or video's or something like that, just wanted a recommendation.

Frankly this is one of the many things that i think [-mArc-] should be censoring, i thought that K**** etc were not allowed. Also downloading MP3s is illegal (i don't care though), but the webspace providers might.

Yes, that was one of the RIAA's biggest embarassments ever (and they've had quite a few). That image quickly became the hymn of MP3 pirates everywhere. There are even posters of it you can order.

Umm, Anarchist, this is not a real ad. You can see the web address of the site that created it on the side of the image -- www.modernhumorist.com.

It was created to be mocked; it's a joke. Laugh. Ha-ha!

There's a whole series of mock propaganda posters over at Modern Humorist, like here and here.

I know that this copy is from ModernHumorist, but I remember seeing untagged versions of it on the Internet as well. That's why I suspected it might be real.
