Im a noob to this board perhaps but have been sort of conservative in only responding to post and scarcely starting any. I have frequented boards before and apart from that use my 20-something commen sense to guide me. if after this im still acting noobily i would appreciate a heads up.

I lurked for about 1 day, but I frequent other forums, so I felt familiar with bulletin-board etiquette and registered right away. Even so, I spammed a bit my first week, since I felt compelled to make it to Bending Unit as fast as possible. Now, meh. I'll get there when I get there. 

I think I've started 3 or 4 threads, with my Matrix: Reloaded thread being the most popular by far.

I've lurked for about 2 weeks before beginning to post, and I had a LOT of messege board experience prior to that. I tried to be a good, productive poster from the beginning (ranks and post counts have lost all meaning to me years ago), but I have no way of measuring my "annoying n00biness factor", so... sorry if I was/am!

This board was the first net experience i had, thats why i picked such an odd username. I hadnt thought of one yet.

Everyone just relax, all this was rellly just in response to hypnotoad. Justtry and get a feel for the board before going overboard.

It drives me nuts how people always hate new people on boards--it's too stressful to be new on a board.  But even though I'm new here I kinda think I should have waited a while to sign up because it feels like I signed up with an influx of retards. But I can't help it I'm obsessed with Futurama. . .but then I'm chicken to post in the Futurama topics sometimes because I don't remember the names of the hairs on everyone's heads (I can't even remember my own name sometimes--let alone episode names and obscure alien names) and I don't want to be accused of being an idiot   

That probably won't change with time

Funny, I was just about to start a thread here about hunting down PEEL's latest additions with a sawn-off shotgun, but hey, you guys probably came up with something already right?

Noobs are irritating creatures, well most of them are but some can still bloom into genuinely mad PEELers, after all if there were never any noobs there wouldn't be any of us here.

The problem ain't so much with newbies as it is with idiots, a breed rife in any social group, fuck it, I'll hunt down whoever I want (comiccollecter5, I'm coming for you next) and leave the other noobs be, at least that hypno-schmuchk seems to be gone from all usernames for the time being.

being a noob is a scary thing,this is my first step into the whole message board thing so i mailed marc to get some pointers on how not to piss people off (too late to do anything about my user name being in capitals,sorry).Everyone is a newbie at some point and we arent all assholes like hypno toad,nuff said

Well it wouldnt be an issue, but we seem to be gettin one or two new Registrations a day.
And they all seem to be......undesirables.
Im not normally predjudiced against noobs, But peel is a Haven for me, and indeed all of us, from the Infantile pointlessness permeating most all other boards.

I talked to edel and she says that Marc SAYS  That some simpsons board has started linking to us and we are gettin all their banned Castoffs.
But thats doesnt sound right to me.

That's just hearsay evidence. Case dismissed.

But, yeah, I noticed No Homers club linked to PEEL at one point. That wouldn't be a problem, most mebers there are great people.

Now if Maggied linked to us. Woah, boy! You wouldnt want that.

Anyway, the new members aren't bad. We're just shellshocked from Hypno Toad and Ooompa Loompa, and react very defensively. It's pretty normal, and in a few weeks noone will remember about it. 95% of those who sign up, and can stand to be around us for more than a few days, seem pretty on the ball. Don't let one or two rotten apples spoil the entire basket.

Well, I lurked around for about a week, then registered after a day cos I finally found out how    I don't usually join boards, so I get nervous when I'm new.  I hope I haven't pissed anyone off too much, and I can't say there have been annoying noobs this month, cos I'm still fairly new.  It just doesn't feel right for someone fairly new to be dissing others.  So, I hope no one is pissed off by me too much!

i joined #futuramachat in July 2002, so i lurked for 3 months    first thread i made was about chatroom and it got closed by Kryten... i was kinda annoying first time, i guess...

Most of these other noobs seem to associate in the Futurama boards, start many doomed threads and mainly associate among themselves.

There are also some other recent noobs who I think have been cool, as well, like Sil who didn't post anything stupid yet.

All newbies have to learn. It's when they don't that there's a problem. I don't think there should be ranks or post numbers. Those things make people feel like it's a contest or race.

In the beginning, there was me and my desire to lord over you all, but I soon became assimilated to the mind process that is PEEL. I am an infrequent guy. I would scour the board and post where I wanted. Then I would disappear. Now, I'm trying to stay here and participate in the daily banter.

fry2006, you're not a bad noobie.  In fact, no one is.  Like Allen said, you're only being a bad PEELer if you continue your annoyence or whatever you call it.  It takes a while to settle down, I've learned.  My friend Tardom just signed up, and sorry if she is being annoying as well, she is a younger PEELer than most of us, so excuse her.
