hmm... there're screens with auto-degauss? i didn't know that. in that case, if you're at work try it at home/vice versa.
or you just forget about it, it's not that important. i just like the effect that happens when the screen gets demagnitized.

Yea, at school the monitors are on for ages and never degaussed, so it looks much better when you do it.

also a great way to get rid of the lovely colorful pattern that sometimes appear after the internal system screensaver switches off. (its supposed to de-magnetize automatically but due to a small glitch it doesnt sometimes. i havent felt arsed to send it in for such minor repairs though since its so easy to remedy. 1 extend arm and hand, 2 press button marked "degauss" )
