I'm not very good at IRC.  How do I get my standalone client to connect to the server?  I get a message about not being authorized to connect.

Edit: Never mind.  mArc gave me the right server.

the irc server I"ve been using previous doesn't seem to work. Well, it connects fine, but nobody is ever there!! It's like I'm on a netsplit or something - people are online as I see on the main PEEL page, so maybe I'm using the wrong server.

Someone gimme another server to try

irc.irchat.tv (6667) always works for me.

I've been using irc.sick-du.de on 6667.  That seems to work fine.

Thanks Ben, for some reason I had been using "usa.irchat.tv" (which used to work), but now I'll just use that one.

M5438 - Yeah I used to use that one originally until it went down, but maybe it's redirection is back up. Thanks anyway.

For some reason, the list of chatters in the peel lounge is no longer working. It's showing a list that's a day old - eg - I'm there when I'm actually not. Just thought it might need bringing to someone's attention.

I noticed that also and I was getting annoyed with it.  And the other night I couldnt' reach the chatroom from the main page and my IRC was messed up at the time.

i have some ideas about new features for botty/peel: could he show the current chat-room topic on the peel-mainpage maybe?
and what if he updated every 5 instead of every 10 minutes?

just some suggestions.

The only person acting like a child in the chat room is you, Juli.

Furthermore, since most people at peel don't even go into the chat room, it's really inappropriate that you open four useless threads and then wreck a decent thread just so that you can moan about not being let into the chat room. You were banned for a reason - and this is it.

I have no doubt that if you continue to make such ridiculous posts, the mods may decide to take either your posting priveleges away, or make the ban on the chat room a permanent ban.

99% of the topics are really pointless, so I don't think I'll do that.

The list is not updated while BureauBotNo1 isn't online (or is having hiccups). Like, right now while I'm off to my parents. It will be back in a few days.

Juliet: maybe take a few days off ... I removed the bans (unless someone readded them), but please wait till you think you are in a happy mood. The others will hopefully back off with the provoking some, too.

Juliet, I hope you act wisely in the chatroom, and that if someone irritates you, to just ignore them.  If there's anymore harassing going on between the users and you of the room, you might be permanently banned from the network (you were banned for 24 hours the other day) because a few of the admins already don't like you that much.

I suggest not coming to PEEL or #futuramachat when your emotions are running on high.

And I ask that people try to leave her alone and not set her off, entertaining though it may be.

Right I came in the chatroom today and everything was fine till  Slimmyand Scotty kicked me out of the room a few times.

I haven't been shouting and swearing today. I just wanted them to stop doing it. This time I haven't been acting like a kid.

I have decided to show my holiday spirit for the last time (me being an evil belgian and all, and I'm trying to get rid of everything good inside me), I'm lifting juliets ban in a week, she gets ONE last chance, if she breaks one of the #fc rules she'll be out permanently with no discussion.
