When one post is split into two by a mod, does the post count for the poster whose post was split increase or stay the same? In other words does it count as two posts towards their post count, or still only count as one?...

Huh? I don't even know how you go about doing that. When I "split" posts it means moving posts between threads, not slicing and dicing up one poster's particular post. But maybe I'm doing it wrong.

No, randi, you're doing it right. It is threads that are split, not individual posts. Unpeel could split posts actually, but if peel 2 has the feature, it is not exposed to ordinary mods.

Maybe I was under the wrong impression, for I thought that say someone posted post in which half of it was On-Topic, and the other half wasn't, the half that wasn't could be moved and the half that was could stay where it is. I guess I'm making this up, or perhaps I've just exposed another flaw of Peel...

I don't know what you're smoking, Ot, but it sounds like powerful stuff.

I dunno now :O_o: Given that it does apply to Un-Peel though, what is the answer to my original question on Un-Peel out of curiosity?...

I believe unpeel used db queries rather than a stored counter to count actual posts attributed to the user. So splitting it would be a postcount++, just as deleting is a postcount--. Not sure about smf in this regard, though I do know deletions result in a postcount--, despite the fact that the posts still exist, just hidden from the commoners in a mods-only garbage forum.

I think that post-splitting could be a useful feature for PEEL 3. :p

What about post-joining? It could solve the double posting problem once and for all.

Because is just too boring!
