They're a funny little touch to the site. Basically they mirror how many posts you've made, and nothing else. They're
not a tool to hit other posters over the head with. For that you need to be an administrator, moderator or have a costum rank.
The rank goes up at certain thresholds, see when
here. The list isn't complete, there are higher ranks, such as "Space Pope" which kicks in at 6667 posts.
Once you've hit a new rank, and want to brag about it, go to
