My original thought was to have him hold the staff in just the one hand and for it to be reasonably vertical. I should have been clearer about that.

(And the hand reference was to do with your healing/sleep-inducing hands)

I wear gloves sometimes.
And I kinda liked him holding it in both hands because it looks like he takes alot of pride Shepard...ing. But whatever you say, oh great one.

Juli, I'll try and get on it ASAP, but it's just past midnight here, so I'll try my best unless you can wait a little longer or someone else do it. and also, if its full body you want, it might not show up so well if I do it

All your efforts are appreciated and loved by this shepherd. I'll gladly use what you've created - it's excellent - I guess I just want to see how it works with a slight tweek. But a slight tweek for me is probably a pain in the arse for you.

Anyhoo, I'm going to sleep so I suggest you don't pander to my whims and go to bed safe in the knowledge that at least one PEELer still thinks you're a genius.

Thanks for making the job easier, Juli.
I tried my best, I was busy with storyboards so I was doing it slightly quick, but I hope its ok:

Sharky, I've finished your one. I'm hoping you'll be ok with this because I've gotta work on my storyboards asap.

Unfortunately I couldn't allow either just yet due to quality standards.  That Guy has rough edges, and the cane is rough all around.  I really do suggest saving the image as a png in GIMP, getting Irfanview, resizing it in that, and saving as .gif (it'll do the transparency thing when you save it).

The first shera would work... but it has stuff in the background and it's not transparent.  Juliet, try filling the entire background with a color (try a grey colour between PEEL white and PEEL grey) and then using irfanview, or send it to me.  The outline version won't work though dr.bendernye for the same reasons; too rough.

I'm not trying to be hippocritical or mean, just trying to let you guys know how things are, and I certainly appreciate the people working on avatars in this thread; I love seeing people happy with new avatars. :)

I don't think there were any sharks pictured in Futurama....  there was the mention of that shark that had Hitler's brain in it, but as stated, I don't believe it was ever pictured.

What you might try doing is asking Trickster for the larger image of the avatar (assuming he has it), crop jabberjaw into the background, at about neck level with That Guy and then resizing and avatarizing it yourself.

jabberjaw is a cartoon shark from the cartoon show entitled Jabberjaw.  It was a Scooby-Doo clone in the late 60s, early 70s (if I recall correctly) about a band of teenagers (who were in a band) with a Shark as their companion (he played drums) who solved mysteries under the sea.

Your avatar actually looks good Sharkster.  I'm not sure what program you're working in, but whenever you go to transparentize, try making the background color a light shade of white (between peel white and peel grey) before you resize.  I suggest making a new layer, making what trickster posted transparent, import it in, and throw jabberjaw on a layer below that.

If you decide to use irfanview (for resizing, transparenting, and saving), go into one of the options and make sure it doesn't dither before you resize; then save it with the transparency color.

I got GIMP and Irfanview in the last 36 hours and I'm testing the waters with both. My first attempt was something of a tyro's effort but hopefully with the bigger image (thanks once again, Tricky) I will improve.

I also have a desire to make a few random ones, maybe Xmas-y (cause I might just have figured it out by Dec 25th)

Here are two avatars from Bender's Game. I have one with Bender with the pot on his head, but I need fix it. (Thanks to mrpmpfan for the screenshots.)

Hmm...Fry looks a little blurry but I think my avy looks like that and I like how that looks.
Maybe I'll try fixing that one, too, just to see if I could make it better.

I spent 15 minutes on Toadberg before I realised somebody had beaten me to it. :(

Anyways, I've given these to winna for the pool, but I might rescind that and keep the full-view for myself.

I'm not sure why that looks fuzzy Shep.... The colors are lighter too.  I suggest editing the original (assuming you have it), adding the shark, etc. and then resizing, cropping from there.  If you did that.... again I'm not sure.
* winna pimps out irfanview again.

It looks nice though.  Your avatars look cool btw tnuk; unfortunately, I can't upload anything to the pool.
