We need new Ranks

In order to rejuvenate PEEL, there need to be new ranks.  Including but not just including honorary globetrotter

This has been brought up many times, but turned down. I like the idea of a new rank, but it might not happen. Honorary Globetrotter is the best I've heard. Probally would mean bringing the DOOP down a bit and putting Globetrotter in range so some people would have it, because if we put it where nobody would get it, Nurdbot would already have it. If what I just said made no sense, oh well.

Actually I am in favour for new ranks after DOOP Secretary this time, or at least of stretching the thing a bit more. I doubt that it will be done - winna and I have talked about that today - but it would be nice. Especially since some people here are reaching the higher post count already. (I mean Nurdy and Tweek).

Also we don't actually know if there are any more ranks to come.  Perhaps at 25000? 30000? who knows?

Also I think that winna is one of the few people here that actually are in the position of suggesting that, simply because he is PEEL history, which we still have do become.

Honorary Globetrotter sounds good, as does Brain Slug- although in that case more as an in-between rank. Anyway, for what it's worth (very little, I suspect) I'd support the introduction of new ranks.

I like that honorary globetrotter, besides it has the advantage that this is a position that can be held by many.

On the other hand it sounds strange (to me) that there are several DOOP secretaries at the same time. IMHO there should be only one.

But I agree with GF that it is unlikely that there will be new ranks implemented in the near future. Then again, what do I know?

Omicronian sounds menancing, but not rank-like. Niblonian sounds cute. I like Gocad's reasoning for Honorary. But the question is, what will be the logo for it? Like DOOP is the medal, and Urban Legend is the five blinking stars. What would be for Honorary? A globe?

I love the 25 Star General idea with the blinking stars. Would look great when we have those big pictures that make the pages huge in the PEELer's Pictures thread. Or those pictures in the Nationstates thread. And don't forget the dial up-ers, guys! They'd love it.

10000 - Honorary Globetrotter[Basketball. Spinning, or perhaps blinking?]

icweiner: it's a nice idea, but it seems impractical to restructure the whole system just because we have more posters now than we did when the ranks were first made. you keep adding new names in between...where does it stop? the possibilities are literally endless. that's why it just seems feasible to tack on new ones at the end instead of in the middle somewhere. besides, this board is supposed to be about posting anyway, and not focusing on the ranks. that's why the post count was taken off the avatar display years ago

i_c_weiner, i don't think we should rename the old ranks and shove in random new ones, it makes no sense to do it and will mean all us old timers "miss out".

You also don't solve the current problem of there being no rank above DOOP Secretary, i'd like it if there was something above my current rank. Infact i would go down two ranks in your system and then take ages to reach my current rank again...

Well, the way I see it, DOOP Secretary is the highest honor you could get in the universe. Well, we could add Delta Brainwave Lacker, as that seems to be a higher "honor" than DOOP would be. Think about it that way. Would you think an Honorary Globetrotter would be higher in the food chain than a DOOP Secretary? I say just change DOOP's name to something else, if that is possible, and add something above it.

I think "Poppler" should become a higher rank. When I first joined, I loved my first 4 posts and then I became a Crustacean, shite in all it's glory. I've not been a rank that's been as cute as Poppler since

DOOP Secretary? There's Earth President. Moon Emporer. Captain of the Nimrod. Neutral Planet guy. I'd say they are all higher than DOOP Secretary who really just sucks. Hell I'd rather be Hyperchicken than DOOP Secretary. I want my post count reset when I get to 9999.

I was just glad to get past the awkward Crustacean stage myself, and have a hard time imagining posting here long enough to get to DOOP Secretary. In spite of that, I'm going to express an unsolicited, unqualified opinion!

Changing the post counts for existing ranks is definately unfair, nobody should be getting downgraded (or upgraded for that matter)
Also, I've never understood why "DOOP Secretary" was the highest ranking, it seems a bit anticlimactic?

My suggestions for post-doop ranks, in no particular order:
President Nixon's Head
Niblonian
Ms. Universe
Robot Devil
Nerdlinger(my personal favorite)

I also liked the suggestions "The Other" and "The Chosen One"

and while I'm posting anyway, lower ranks that would've been funny: Clone, Zombie Jesus, and Neptunian Elf.
