The mod squad recently closed This thread, its predecessor, whose use had been accomplished, and a question thread by its creator Eyedol7513, all without fully explaining why they were closed. Now, I think I know why they were closed: they were contests with limited entry, and I can see how that would bother people. I didn't notice any sort of policy statements from the admins or mods before now, but I guess there was no precendent. What I want to know is why was this contest allowed to continue for six pages and four rounds without one single peep from a moderator? Nobody made any sort of complaint until he opened a second thread, which admittedly wasn't necessary except for clarity. Why was something apparently against the rules allowed to continue for so long before a judgment was made? If VF had come along on page 1 and said "this concept is exclusionist and against the philosophy of the board *closed*," I personally would have shrugged it off and moved on. I suppose this is more of a question than a complaint: why did the mods take so long to reach a decision, and then start locking threads without consulting/discussing with the guy who created the offedning concept?

why did the mods take so long to reach a decision, and then start locking threads without consulting/discussing with the guy who created the offedning concept? My guess? Because they didn't notice. The Mods aren't around 24/7. They would've shut them down earlier if they'd found them. Also, mods don't need to consult with users in order to shut down threads. If a user wants to ask a mod whether they can start particular kind of thread, they can always ask a mod, either through E-mail (which might be in their profile), or by checking on one of these threads in the Wish Void, like that Questions/Suggestions one. Yes, I'm making assumptions. And a mod could come along and jump on me for being presumptuous. Still, it's as good an answer as any.

I suppose this is more of a question than a complaint: why did the mods take so long to reach a decision, and then start locking threads without consulting/discussing with the guy who created the offedning concept? At least I'm not alone. Someone in charge (no offense to regular PEEL members), please explain this to me. As stated by Nerd-o-rama, that contest was allowed to continue for 4 rounds, and expand to 6 pages. (Roughly 2-3 weeks. Possibly more.) I realize that Mods aren't able to be here 24/7, but for 2 1/2 weeks? I understand my question thread being closed, and my new Futurama Trivia Champion thread being closed, but why the overall concept? If people had felt left out, they could've easily told me, and I would've cancelled the game. If no one said anything, it can be safely assumed that they read the rules, accepted it, and moved on. If there were no complaints, then why still close it? And again, it's a public thread. Anyone can talk in it, and discuss the game, as long as they're nice enough to not post the answer. And why do you think one sentence explains everything? It doesn't, especially when there is nothing against that kind of concept in any of the rules.I would just like it clarified. Basically, why wasn't a good reason for the thread being closed given, and why was the first one allowed to last as long as it did? (Especially when no one complained. Hell, at least two users asked for reservations for the second game. As far as I can tell, they had no problems with the concept, and were patiently waiting for the chance to play.) And if that fails, which would be completely unfair, and a perfect example of abuse of power, could I post the same thing, have for example 50 questions, keep score, BUT ALLOW ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PLAY, TO PLAY? (And the person who has the most points after all questions have been posted, wins?)

I like to complain about bunnycat and her obsession on talking about sex all the time. It annoys me a lot. Yes sex is fun and great but I wish she would stop going on and on and on about it like I use to. -----------------

So you're saying we should retroactively ban you too then? In the interest of fairness? If you do that, I will so send you money. You got a Paypal account? Okay, back to business. Secondry accounts, should they be allowed anymore? It's getting quite annoying and confusing when someone pops up who acts in a way that reminds people of a certain PEELer that left a week ago or someone that posts once a full moon and they we get accusations right and left because people think it's that girl/guy with another account. They were funny once apon a time, now they are just annoying.

Okay, I have to speak for a large number of PEELers that are fed up with all these damn fake accounts. It's really getting annoying and threads are constantly being spammed up with talk about them.
Mods, is there any way you can crack down on these?

All the spam in several threads complaining about them is far more anoying than they are. At least this is the correct place to mention it Nurdy, they should either all get banned or just those that have behaved in a way that would get a regular poster banned.
