Sorry GnrlHammond, but it is the other way around!

This article at moviehole.net was the one which started all these roumors at first.
We all hoped it would be some kind of true, but for me I couldn't believe that there would be any "unfinished" episodes of Futurama left.
It got canceled before any new episodes could be written (Fox didn't order new ones).

It seems as if the guys at CGEF (who was it: mArc, Slimmy, Jon?? I think it was mArc) can't believe it either, so they asked DXC.
He's the executive producer of Futurama and I think he'd know if there where any episodes left    ;)

There aren't!

Moviehole.net was simply wrong, and they already fixed it    ;) Read more at CGEF

Please, you got to believe me, I didn't plan to get it! Please! Can you accept Zoidy's apology-dance?

It'd take more than just a comic book to finish up the story. From what I know, Matt and David had a ton of plans for the series at the time of its cancellation.

And even if they could, it just wouldn't be the same.

Lol, I still hope it comes back, but I über-highly doubt it. Futurama had a good run, so I'm satisfied. For the most part, I agree with mic.

Why would we want it back? Don't get me wrong, I love Futurama just as much as the next fan, but it just wouldn't be the same. I'm happy for the run it had and who knows? Maybe that straight-to-DVD movie will get made. If not, then just be happy for what you have already. Come on! We still have the comics!

although it pains me i have to agree with mic, i have a good trong feeling in me' waters that there will be a movieor two, but as for coming back for a 6th season? very unlikley. besides, think about how they would make more ep's, i mean the whole series basically revolved around fry and leela and there dynmaics, so with how the last episode finished im not sure what they could do.

Oh please, all this community did was send a load of tinned anchovies and hate letters to Fox and create endless online petitions.
Thats all you have to show for half a decades work? Pathectic. Let me tell you a little something, FOX DONT CARE ABOUT PETITIONS. You want Futurama back? Go to the Fox Headquarters [you can find there address on there website] and SIT DOWN AND DO NOT MOVE. Inform your local media. Boycott all of Fox's shows [and I mean ALL of them]and products untill they bring Futurama back.

Jesus, calm down! Although I can understand your frustration, it's clear that going that far would be a large hassle. Many of the members here don't even live in california and might not be willing enough to buy a plane ticket to do just that. If anything, I would advise you to go to www.futurama-or-bust.com  on January 1st.  :flirt:

there's a point when you have to say 'futurama is just a cartoon' and get on with your life.  I'd love to see the show come back, and there's alot Id be willing to do to help bring about that goal.  However, dropping everything and putting my life on hold to stage a sit-in fits squarely into the 'hell no' category.  I think Fry said it best: "Melllvar, you cant let a tv show be your whole life.  You can do anything you want!"

To paraphrase an old post by Nix; you're more than welcome to pick up where we left off trying to knock down a brickwall with your head. Just don't expect us to join you, because you say so. We've tried it, we got tired off it, but more importantly we're sick and tired of new members telling us what "true fans" of the show would or should do.

What happened to the futurama direct-to-dvd movie in the works? When fox asked seth macfarlene for a FG movie they also asked Matt for a futurama one. There's more demand for FG of course, so he got the whole series back and a second show  ;) Still I heard the movie was coming out soon (and in a best buy holiday newsletter they said it was "coming soon" )

The Direct-to-DVD movie is still unconfirmed by either FOX or Matt Groening, meaning at best the negotiations are still ongoing. Then follows assembling the crew, the actual production, etc.

Best Buy were at best premature with their promise, more likely they don't know anything either.

Definently, I still have the energy to go mano-a-mano against that damn wall, but I don't mind if people don't want to anymore. Some people have longer endurance... (or thicker skulls..   ;) ) and others don't. Which is fine, and I don't yell at anybody to get them on my side. A kind suggestion is all I give.. nothing more.
Oh, and to address some other comment, just because we still want to attack that wall doesn't make us stupid. It just means we have more endurance... (or it means we're newbies with fresh energy.) But I personally apply to the endurance category, I learned about it just a month after it was cancelled. (and as you can see, I'm still going.)

Kim Possible has been renewed for another seasonn and it was cancelled earlier this year.  Futurama has been cancelled for two years.  Unless some breaking news comes up, I doubt Futurama may ever come back.  I wonder what's been taking so long for the greenlight for the DVD trilogy?

The problem with all these "save Futurama" campaigns is that the time to strike is long over with. The last episode aired in August of 2003, which was in fact a production hold over from the previous season. That means the most recent episode, "Devil's Hands...", was made sometime in 2002 (presumably). The show was cancelled, I believe, in the spring of 2002. That means the production crew has had 2 to 3 years to find other work. FOX has had the same amount of time to recant their decision. Neither has happened. While there's some instances of a network keeping a show on after loud dissent right after a show is axed, for a show to be out of production for three years is unheard of.

If you want the DVD movie, buy the DVD sets, watch it on CN. Those are concrete examples of loyalty, and not some stupid online petition.

Exactly, and that's what I've been doing. As I see it the show won't come back.. and as for a direct-to-DVD movie, I think the chances are slim for that to happen.  :(

Of course, I would nothing more than FOX to prove me wrong.

As much as I would love to be tear-gassed, beaten, and then extradited back to England after having paid 500+ quid for a plane ticket and therefore having been subjected to the horrendous delays and security checks in time that I would have had to book off work (leaving less time for an actual holiday) and be sacked from my job because of the criminal prosecution that would follow, I'm not going to be doing that.

Regarding your head and the metaphorical brick wall, I'd actually like to see you bang your head against a real brick wall for four hours or so. If you need help ramming your cranium into something solid, I'm sure that there are organisations that exist to furnish you with the answers to that dilemma.
