Same idea as last year, except with characters this time. They are seperated into the following divisions: 20th Century, 31st Century, Creatures and Aliens, and Robots. Voting will begin September 1st. - If you don't see a character listed, it's because either I forgot him/her, or I decided to omit him/her.
- The ranking system is pretty much arbitrary. I did try to estimate how popular each character is, but in some cases I just ranked them to create some interesting matchups.
There is a twist, however. In the spirit of NCAA March Madness, this will also be a contest. Save the bracket above to your hard drive, and by whatever means fill out the bracket as you think the tourney will go. I don't care how you do it, whether by editing it in photoshop or paint, or by printing it out, filling it in by hand, then scanning it, but email your completed brackets to fallmadness04@yahoo.com by August 31st. The top 3 or so winners will receive actual, factual prizes from me, Nixorbo, your most favoritest moderator. More information will become available as soon as I work it out. To enter, please use your PEEL email address and include your username in the subject line. Entries lacking proper identification will be discarded.Closed until I need to update/remember something I forgot, to discourage spamwhores. That's right, I know all about you ::Points at you:: P.S. mArc - I would like to have a seperate forum again, but not until September. I  you.

Let's open this puppy up for discussion, 'k?
Also, I found the easiest way to edit the brackets to be copy and paste in ms paint.

@evan: I'm sure you just made a point, but I'll be darned if I have any idea what it was.
@Unknown: Umm, they ARE the NCAA brackets. I just took the image and changed the names. You'll notice I left the legal disclaimers about betting and stuff at the bottom.

Nixorbo: What evan was saying was that the way tournaments are aligned, the 1-16 winner would play the 8-9 winner, the 2-15 winner would face the 7-10 winner, and so on.
So if all the seeds held up, it would be like this:
First round -- 1-16, 8-9, 4-13, 5-12, 6-11, 3-14, 7-10, 2-15 (that's the order they should appear in the brackets for each region) Second round -- 1-8, 4-5, 3-6, 2-7 Regional semifinals -- 1-4, 2-3 Regional final -- 1-2
The way it's set up now, you'd have your 1-2 matchups in the second round, which is too early.

Pah, no chance! Zoidberg shall own you all!
I sent in my entry, but as an Australian I doubt I'm eligible for a share of the fabulous prizes...

I'm supposed to pick up that chart and fill in the numbers. For each couple the number of supposed winner. Then email it to that address.
Then there will be voting, public as far as I presume. In this voting, we will vote for the one we bet on previously. This way we will make The Final Chart.
Then The Final Chart will be compared with the charts we sent, rating each competitor. Depending on how predictable he/she was, he/she gets certain score. Finally, winners with highest score will be annouced.
Is that it?
I have some other questions though. First of all, how are we supposed to compare the couple? By which one is more favourite (I suppose this is it)? More intelligent (poor Fry)? Which one would win a fist fight (as I saw above)? And how will the voting look like (separate forum?!?). [/small] I'm not an expert, but as I understand it: - If you want to enter the competition, predict the winner of each match, up to and including the final. Mark these predictions on the chart and email it to the supplied adress.
- Each match will have a normal PEE Poll to decide the winner, in a temporary Fall Madness forum (if it's conducted in the same way as last year's Fall Madness).
- You can vote for whoever you want- it's a general popularity contest, not a specific strength or intelligence one.
- Once all of the matches have been decided, the entries will be scored as shown in one of the early posts of this thread. The highest scorer(s) will win the fabulous prize(s).
