Groening Appearance Moved AGAIN!

Officially, I think the people at Adult Swim are now starting to become idoits with their scheduling. It appears that Adult Swim has move Groening's appearance for the THIRD TiME. The week of September 27 is the new date.

Aparently, Adult Swim has the balls to not just postpone MG week AGAIN, but give a week to Seth McFarland for Family Guy.

I really hope that he and Cartoon Network are in talks about something and have to wait until then to make an "official announcement." Then it will all be worth in. On an unrelated note, does anyone know when the Emmy nominations will be announced? I predict a "Sting" nomination. Maybe even a win. And a nomination to that Simpsons episode this year in which Bart and Lisa become best friends. Not because it was any good, mind you...

And I would really suggest that nobody get their hopes up. Seriously.

And didn't a McSeason 5 ep already get nominated for an emmy previously? In what space of time before the emmy's does a show have to air to be nominated?

I wonder why they keep moving it back?

Oh well. The Seth McFarland thing was planned from the beginning, so don't get upset over that.

Also, I hope the Sting gets nominated(and wins), but for some reason I feel it won't.

Not too good to here, although Fmaily Guy pulls in moe viewers than Futurama (or so I've heard) so it doesn't come as surprising.

Damnit.  Every time someone says something like that, the little bit of hope I've tried to bury resurfaces, and forces me to cram it back in by any means necessary before I get upset.  Well, here's hoping anyway...

Crap, it just surfaced again...I'll get the waffle iron.

Blind hope... that's all we Futurama fans really have, isn't it?

I wish they'd do a David X. Cohen week...

Well they could always get Groening and Cohen to come on screen together.  That would seem appropriate.

Regarding emmy talk, I doubt Futurama has much of a chance with the remaining eligable episodes, but I hope it gets at least a nomination.  Simpsons nomination is "The Way The Weren't" by the way.  Well nominations haven't been announced yet, but no way is Simpsons not going to be on the list.

As for the moving of Groening's fave episodes....I'm not sure if I'm going to trust the source, to be honest.  Tv Tome has a history of false information and idiots running the various sites.  But we'll see.

This is another non-American asking a stupid question, but why on earth is it called Adult Swim?!

To the best of my knowledge:

"Adult Swim"  is the time in public pools where there are no children allowed in the pool.  It is the adults' time to have some fun or just relax.

Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" is a time when children shouldn't be watching cartoons.  It's the adults' (or at least older kids') turn to watch cartoons and relax.

Why do they keep changing the time slots?  And why did they postpone Matt Greoning's appearence?  I was shocked when I saw Family Guy was on instead.  So, I watched an ALF rerun on TV Land (One of my old favorite shows) to wait for Futurama to come on.  I just don't get it.  Why do people prefer a show about a dysfunctional family who tries to kill each other over a good and wholesome show that actually has heart and makes you think like Futurama?  I guess Futurama isn't comprehendable to pea-brained trailer park trash teenagers.

KurtPikachu: I'm not a fan of TFG much either, but it has its moments and there are people here who like it, so there's no need to keep insulting them.

It's been postponed so many times, that I've forgotten what it is. Is Groening gonna commentate, or do an interview, or...what?

also, when adult swim first began in 2001, instead of the bumps we have now, the commercial breaks were marked by images/videos of old people swimming, along with a message of what was on and what was up next.

Because, the way I understand it, it was/is aimed at older audiences instead of the "kid-friendly" programming Cartoon Networks runs the rest of the time.

I did like it when i first saw it, but i agree it is HEAVILY overrated. It was an ok episode, but it certainly aint no Sting. The Sting is a classic, and one of the best cartoon episodes of ANY show.

No, it was a modern classic.  With that said I'd still vote for "The Sting", "Devil's Hands" or "Bender Should Not..." instead, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
