has anyone picked up on a futurama character slipping up and using the antiquated term ask instead of the cooler, futuristic aks?

(conversely, does any character from the past accidently aks anyone else something?)

(ps. i found a similar thread here, but it's quite old. also quite closed... so i'm sorry if i step on anyone's toes)

I always thought it was axe??  Nevermind though, I have noticed in quite a few episodes that they seem to have 'forgot' but I have no evidence of this claim as I cannot remember which episodes they were. (probably quite a few).
Either way, in the 4th (production) season they quite obviously use the new futuristic term a couple of times but as before I cannot remember which eps there were in.

Welcome to PEEL though.  <IMG SRC="http://peel.gotfuturama.com/ubb/smile.gif">

actually i think the only one who uses 'axe' consistently is Leela. I think all of the others have slipped up at some point. I'm not sure if it's in the script that way or if Katey keeps track of it herself or what.

In Space Pilot 3000 Leela uses the word ask instead of ax (it's when she and Fry first meet).

I don't think that the writers have forgotten this, I rather think they haven't "invented" the word ax yet.

what i meant was after it was stated in xmas story that ask was now pronounced axe that was when Leela started using it consistently.

I'm pretty sure up until the ep "Xmas Story" where we find out that they use "axe" instead of "ask, you only hear them use ask, then after that it's always axe....I think it's only Leela though as somebody else pointed out....
