New posts! Agh! Peel hasn't been coloring the folders red! Oh well.

Hey Ouch, other than the site, is there anything else that needs to be done?

Hey all, just wanted to say that your protest-thingy-mabob made me want to join this here message board and the cause to save Futurama! Just a few months ago I got into Futurama, and after watching "The Devil's Hands" on Cartoon Network, I got really excited to see the next episode. However, I was really dissapointed when I found out that there were no more episodes! All the more fuel for my fire, I suppose.

Ooh! ouch, you should put the DXC quote from his email to me on the site, you know, for motivation.

"Good luck with the anchovy campaign.  May the Angry Norwegian smile upon you.  Or frown... whichever is better."
                       -DXC

Just an idea.    :)

Edit: haha didn't notice the angry yelling about being bugged about the site. Also, ouch, did you notice you double posted?

KAH ... I suggest you don't razz Ouch about anything.  He's put a huge amount of effort into this, and our site sponsor has been mooving slowly ... very slowly.  I think he sent an email off to TLZ last night, so we might get another sponsor who actually does something.  Here's to hoping.

Good idea, though.

Ouch, I salute you for all your work

Wow... I have been gone far too long. This is a bloody genius idea, especially sending anchovies with that label on it. If there is actually a planned date for it I will attempt to send some despite the fact it would cost me sending form the UK. But even if Fox were to give it another season (touch wood!) would the writers etc. agree?

I think so. They all seemed to regret the show's cancellation, come in pretty readily to record commentaries, etc. Some of the writers are idle, and some would probably drop whatever they were doing to come back to work. As for the animation team, I don't think it would look any different. If the 3rd Family Guy Season was animated by a different group, I never noticed.

Just imagine Matt Groening and David Cohen would also send anchovies to FOX :-)
I will devinetly send them. It will be a little expensive because I live in Europe but that's worth it to me. Also I will post the link of the AFF page to other futurama fans I know here and other german Futurama fanpages. So maybe this will get some more people who join.

We've moved it to Oct. 25 ... the 10th of August was the original date, but since we haven't even got the site up yet, that one was obviously too early.  Our reasoning is that the 10th was only meaningful to fans, and it wouldn't make a difference at all to FOX.

Ooh, I see that the website is ready to go! And the timing couldn't be better. The Adult Swim forum is buzzing with rage. All the users are angry because of FOX's bizarre censorship of Family Guy last Wednesday. So I'm going to take advantage of the "Fox Sucks" attitude going around and offer them this chance for revenge.

Let's see how this idea plays out with a mainstream, sane audience.  ;)

FOX aired the episode where Brian has to help that old woman who's never left her house.  During the musical number on the FOX version, one of the tarot cards was changed from George W. Bush to Jerry Springer. Also the World Trade Center towers were digitally removed after 9/11 (the same reason why the George W. Bush tarot card was changed to Jerry Springer).

Both of these deleted parts have been shown on Cartoon Network.

It wasn't just that, but words such as "crap" and "dump" were censored. Now everybody there is worried that Family Guy Season 4 will turn out that way too.

Enter j_ohanley...

It is indeed done!  AFF is DONE!!!

I am so sorry that it wasn't done when I promised or at least earlier... I deserve like long long long long angry horrible emails telling me they hate me  :(

And I'd like to thank Ouch, for keeping on my ass, holding this whole thing together, and writing most of the stuff that is up on the website.

I know excuses suck, but mine is that I was busy. School started and it's just been a busy uphill climb, and I did put a lot of effort into doing the site, tweeking little things till it looked at least decent, and I actually typed everything up in notepad... including retyping the stuff that Ouch sent me.  Thanks for hanging in there though  :D All of you!  ;)

Anyways, if there is anything wrong with the site, ie dead links, something should be there or you have anything else to add (even if you want to send me hatemail) email me at nickssf@gmail.com

Again thank you for your time, I hope the site is satisfying, NOW LET'S SEND FOX SOME ANCHOVIES!!@@!!

Yayness!  I don't have time to check the whole site right now, given I have to be up in 6 hours to go to work (blegh!), so I'll check tomorrow when I have more time.  Also, Nick, you can add my email in as a contact.  My name is Andy, and the contact address will be Zoidberg227@gmail.com

Thanks for your work!

Also, can you put music in the page?  I've got a pretty cool mix with character voices and variations of the theme one of my friends made that I can send you.  It's somewhere between two and three minutes long, if that matters.

Edit: Done and done.  Also I have to be at school by 8 tomorrow :\

Tell me how I can help. I just found the site tonight. I'm sure you all have heard this before.
When I registered, I was thinking bureaucrat. I had the professor's voice in my head when I retrieved my password. Leela dutifully guided me back here, while Bender smiled and took my wallet. "Ahh man!"
Fox made the wrong decision on what program to bring back!   :(
Family Guy is alright but Futurama is "head and shoulders" above it IMHO.

Hope I'm not stepping on toes but I clicked on the link AFF and it read:
.
Welcome to the official web page of Anchovies For Fry (AFF)
The world's largest protest against FOX in the name of FUTURAMA!
At the peak of their war on quality entertainment, those weasels we know so well at the FOX network dealt the final blow and cancelled the beloved series we all know as Futurama. It was an insufferable atrocity that cost us millions upon millions of fans dearly. Futurama was not just any show: Futurama was the one show that we could take refuge in and bond with the characters, because the show respected its audience and its intelligence enough to allow it. Viewers often attest to nearly being moved to tears by certain episodes. Admit it, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone having the same response to the Simpsons, or Family Guy. These aren't just long-time fans we're talking about either. Love for Futurama doesn't take long to grow. Want proof? As I, write this, I did not know what Futurama was a month ago. Now I am heading a movement of thousands to protest for it! And for all its addictive power, Fox still can't make us of Futurama to its satisfaction? Fools... complete fools...
Alright, I get it. So what are we going to do about it?
-Chester Frollo
.
On the first FAQ this was written:
Q: What is AFF?
A: We are AFF. AFF stands for 'Anchovies for Fry', our movement to protest the cancellation of Futurama by getting every fan we can to mail an unthinkable amount of anchovies (coupled with traditional letters) to FOX. We will be mailing htem in the form of ordinary, unopened cans with a special Futurama themed label stuck on top, or the side, which you can print out from this site. The anchovies will be sent to FOX's generic address, while the letters will be sent to FOX Broadcasting Co. President Gail Berman. For more info, check out our <letter writing and shipping guide.> The url for that... http://ssfuturama.wz.cz/AFF/lwsg.php
.
This is what it said:

Letter Writing and Shipping Guide
Well, I see you're ready to join our fight here at AFF! Congratulations on choosing to help us get our favorite franchise back! Once you get your anchovies in order, send them to the address below so that they arrive on October 25, 2004:
FOX Broadcasting Co.
P.O. Box 900
Beverly Hills, CA 90213
For help assembling, packaging, and timing your anchovy shipments, consult our In-depth shipping guide.
In addition to the anchovies, don't forget to have a formal letter of protest typed up to send to Gail Berman at the address below, also timed to arrive on October 25, 2004:
Ms. Gail Berman
President
Building 100 Room 4450
10201 W. Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90035
Remember to send everything in a typed envelope. That will definitely increase their chances of opening it!
If you are unclear on what to write, we recommend reading examples of finished letters, pointers for writing, and our in-depth shipping guide.

.
I WILL join this fight yall and will get my friends and neighbors to join me! I love this show and hope the execs just love anchovies. hehe
.
.
Don't forget to visit http://ssfuturama.wz.cz/AFF/lwsg.php  for more information on how to send those letters AND Fry foods.  ;)

Wow!  The site looks great!  Great job everyone who worked on it!

Now on to recruiting.   Maybe we can divide up the responsibilities on this. (I think I mentioned this in a past post, but some people are too lazy to read back)

1) Someone can contact the webmasters of all the various Futurama websites.
2) Someone can post a message about the “Anchovies for Fry” on as many message boards and places as possible
3) A few people go through all the sites and collect emails. (All the people who’ve submitted fan art & fiction to sites like theLeelaZone, when you click on their name, you get their email)  When I click through comments on the various message boards I always see messages that say things “I wish Futurama would come back”.  It should be easy to recruit people like that.  (Then the rest will follow  :))

I’ve already started doing #3, anyone else want to help?
