Interesting. I noticed the name Gore but never put two and two together.

I never noticed that, are there any other famous connections with the production staff?

Ah! Al Gore, my favourite unelected American President! I shall go now to mumble about the over candidate.

I thought al gore was so good in TOI that I assumed he was voiced by an actor until I listened to the commentary. And to have Stephen Hawking actually playing himself...hahahahahaha

Oh yeah... i thought John and Joe Di Maggio *weren't* related

That would explain how they got Al Gore to do the 2 or 3 episodes he did.

According to the commentaries, Al Gore was a guest star before Kristen Gore began writing for the show.

So it does. I didn't know there were two writers named Gore. I don't think Evan Gore is related to Al Gore Though. IMDB has next to no information on him and according to this url it certainly isn't a son of Al Gore.

<edit> Link works now. </edit>

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the only episode where Kristen Gore gets the writing cerdit is "Leela's Homeworld".

Nope, Aaron Ehasz wrote "Crimes of the Hot". The only episode Kristin Gore is credited for is "Leela's Homeworld".

Yes, though she is credited on I think all Season 3 and 4 episodes as a Staff Writer, whatever that means.

I still love that joke in Series one when Bender has a whole stack of money and says:

"Are you familiar with my friend Al Gore" and Al Gore's Head is on the $500 notes  :) That cracks me up
