Amazing, isn't it?  Futurama's resumed production on April 1st 2002, April 1st 2003 AND April 1st 2004.

Actually, Rough Draft called you probably called you because Jon called someone there. Also, Sarge is a crackwhore. We still have official links to Futurama!  :D

Hey, come on. Death jokes are funny. Unless, of course, the person is really dead.

I actually got a chuckle out of it when I found out it was a prank, even though it was a tad tastless. I can understand why Sarge would be upset though.

Glad you're not dead Sarge.   ;)

Since I've just read this post now seeing both the "Sarge is dead." and the "No, I'm alive." posts, I have to say it's lost all of its drama.

I guess we now have one way to get old posters to come back, tell everyone they're dead!

Sarge, was me who called rough draft.  a hellva lot of people were really sad over this, including me.  I felt it was ideal to confirm your death with a real source before more people got sadder.

I told them on the phone that it might infact be just an april fools joke, but that we're pretty worried.

Anyway, really glad to see you're still breathing  :p Sorry if the phone call messed anything up.

It was all a joke?! Sarge's is not really dead!?! Where is he, I'll kill him!!!

More than just a relief you're still alive Sarge  :)

Unless Sarge saying he's still alive is the April fool...?  :hmpf:

I've always been somewhat wary of "This guy you knew from the net is dead" type posts, because why would anyone know about the message boards someone posts at then feel the need to register and post that someone has died.

At another board I went to a well-respected member registered a duplicate account under his real name and posted an emotional out-pouring making various references to "the end" etc. basically saying "OK I've had enough of the shit life throws at me and you jerks suck too, so I'm going to go jump off a bridge now". Of course a few weeks later he returned. Some real f*cked up things people do to get attention.

I hope you get aids and die "Bell"end

Well on the X-Wing forum I am in, something similar happened, he said how depressed he was, nothing was going very well, but he never lashed out at anyone, calling any of them nasty names or going on about how nasty the world was - all he did was say he was depressed. And as far as we know he really did kill himself in the end.
I've also read about people in the Freelancer and Operation Flashpoint community who really have died. So unfortunately I'm not always wary of posts like that, and if I had died yesterday, I would like it very much if someone who knew me personally, told everyone, whether they registered as a different person, used my account, or emailed someone else.

Bart182, now I understand why you called. You were responding about the rumor. That's okay. I didn't mean to chew you out. I was just wondering why someone I don't even know would start this lie about me. April Fools joke? Pretty stupid stunt.
If they said, "Hey, Sarge just won $3,000,000 in some East Coast lottery.", that I can see turning a few heads. That would be a good joke. But to say someone died? No.

I used to think nobody could have such bad taste in humor that Carrot Top would look dignified and sophisticated in comparison, and yet here you are proving me wrong.

I move that we close this thread.

Heh, I KNEW it! I want to kill this person for the time I spent searching for the obit. It had been a few days since he died, I figured there would be something about it. Ah well, good to know he isn't dead.
