Ever since people found out Family Guy is back on air. More people have been doing more things to get Futurama back on air?

Its because they have seen that FOX is open to bring back cancelled series b/c they have potential to make more $. They saw Family Guy was bringing in huge amounts of $ for DVD sales and they believe that they can make even more $ from new episodes.

The difference, in terms of Fox, between Futurama and Family guy is it costs a lot more $ to make Futurama than it does Family Guy. I'm not saying it can't happen, but the $ is stacked up against it some what...

Not neccessarily.  I heard somewhere that Family Guy costs $1 million an episode to make, which is still pretty expensive.

A standard million dollar episode of Family Guy and a 5 minute dirt cheap HomestarRunner.com short both give me the same amount of laffs. It's amazing the dough some'll spend..

I thought it was Cartoon Network that was bringing it back. I am probably wrong.

As I understand it, FOX are funding the episodes, but CN will air them (and presumably pay FOX a syndication fee), while FOX can also sell DVDs.

FOX also have an option to air the episodes before CN.

Why would FOX allow CN to show it when they can and make more money for themselves?
P.S. FOX is a load of greedy nerds

I'm guessing that CN may pay a bigger fee if the episodes haven't already aired on FOX.

Greedy? Yes. Nerdy? I think not!

What nerd in his/her right mind would cancel a classic show like Futurama?

It's good that there's a healthy amount of action and interest. I know Groening's appearances and the DVD sales don't sound too amazing, but I remember waiting months and months for action on Sealab 2021 (AS Show) with not so much as a new COMMERCIAL for the show. The small fan following of Sealab had to go on the release of a new Sealab T-shirt as the only assurance that the show wasn't cancelled.
