Teral, I get where you're coming from.  Now get where I'm coming from.

First of all, European DVD sales are largely irrelevant to FOX's decision.  Family Guy's first season DVD was released in Europe yonks ago, but it wasn't till it did well in American sales that FOX stood up and took notice.  And you've said yourself, when the original petition was handed in, only the European DVDs had been released.

You make a good point about Futurama's initial cancellation getting a lot of publicity.  I'll admit, we're not going to get that publicity again.  However the support of the major Futurama websites would still give the petition more exposure than PEEL alone.

However the creative team having split up is irrelevant.  Family Guy will have to rebuild their team from scratch for the new series, but you know that they will, even if it means bringing in some new faces.

According to you, Futurama costs 1-1.5 million per episode.  I read somewhere that Family Guy costs 1 million per episode.  Futurama's more expensive to make than Family Guy, but I wonder if some people have exaggerated by how much.

If FOX are going to reverse their decision on Futurama, now's the time.  In fact, now's probably a better time that when the show was actually put on hiatus.  CN ratings are good, US DVD sales are high, and Family Guy's resurrection is fresh in everyone's minds.

Will Zeep's petition make a difference?  Probably not.  But it's not like we have anything to lose, and at least Zeep is trying to do something constructive, unlike the people on the sidelines who aren't actually doing anything themselves, but are more than ready to deride Zeep's efforts.

I think Zeep is right. I'd sign his petiton, I would love to have Futurama back on the air. But is this possible? I've heard there were some unaired episodes, but I really don't think they'd play em. Don't take me in a negative way, but I don't think it would work. It would be sweet though!

All eps have been aired in the U.S. The last eight were aired during the 'ratings off' season.

It was a rumor! I don't know if it was true or not. But I thought I saw it somewhere. I know there were like five unaired episodes of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Oh besides Futurama, it's my favorite show!

Are there any fanatic groups(like PEEL)for Family Guy that can provide support for Futurama in the form of signitures?

Charmy (On The No Homers Club) brought up an interesting point. What if to go with this petition, someone started a letter campaign, where they try to convince as many people as possible to send a well thought out letter to FOX on the same date. Usually 1 well thought out letter is as good as 100 signatures on an online petition.

hmm, good idea i never really thought of that. If we send thousands of indivdual letters they will be completely overwelmed....

But Germans are funnier. Also, Patton was a Grade A nutter.

If any Germans are offended by this, er, mock Aus in some way.

My friend and I have been thinking of writing letters but if we could get a lot of people to do it, and on the same day, wow. That would really say something. Kind of an "I believe in Santa Claus" thing. Let's do it.

David X. gives his email address out on the commentaries. Is that the real one? If it is isn't he spammed to death? If not thats a legitimate reason to email him. He has a geek soul, he would understand.

It couldn't hurt, if you think a lot of people at your school like Futurama. Me? Most of the students at my school... well... lets just say i dont think they're exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. I highly doubt many of them watch futurama, but i guess i could be wrong. maybe i'll try this...  :D

No, unfortunately i can't. but how would you like it if someone could adjust your signature after you wrote it down? it's like forgery! which, coincidentally, isn't much different that adding fake signatures

Great idea! if someone would be willing to write a base letter, we could all sort of edit it a bit, or something. i'm not very good at writing fancy pieces of writing, and with something like this, i'd probably get carried away.

again, a great idea. i'm sure DXC could have a bit of influence on FOX, or at least he could get some people "high up" to sign the petition (like matt!)

#366 slowly but surely its getting there, think of clever ways to advertise.  Flyers, Email, Other Msg Boards/Forums write it in the sky etc, + other ways mentioned above.  The more ppl know the more ppl will sign.  *Cuz if they don't know they can't sign*  Good Luck is all i can say

But on the other hand, what about Matt Greoning and the other story writers, animaters editers etc.  Surely they've move on since and it would be a mammoth effort to get in contact with them?
- Fox, could just ignore the petition.
- I done a little research on Petition's to stop the cancelling of TV Shows.  Generally it doesn't work, but it has on a very few occasions.  So there is a possibilty.

I guess the only way is to wait and see.

We've already done the petition thing, and we sent a hardcopy to fox.  Also we've done the letter thing where we sent snail mail.  I'm willing to back anyone up on this sort of thing, but make sure it's organized.  And let me just end that the last time we did this it was EXTREMELY organized and everything, by marc of all people.  So you're going to have to give like.... 1110% if you seriously want people to follow you in on this.

I'm number 369. Whatever slim hope we have, we really need to exploit it for Futurama right now, before they forget about it. And I like the letter idea; can we decide on a date?
