Today is a cause for rememberance and celebration. It was 5 years ago today on March 28th 1999 that our beloved TV show Futurama made it's debut as one of FOX's shows. May we remember the good times we've all shared with this great series!

In April 1999 The Sunday Times had an article in it's magazine about the rise of adult animations in America.  Guess who was on the magazine cover?  :)

God, I wish I'd kept that cover.  Along with the Radio Times guide to Star Trek: TNG it's the dumbest thing I ever threw out.

Hooray! The show that taught the world how to love again has aged another year...

Didn't it air in April sometime in Aus? Really though I have no idea.

I've already spent the weekend celebrating. God I'm sore... headbanging is less fun after you do it.

1999-2000 was a big time for adult animation in America.  You had Futurama, Family Guy, The PJs (if that counts), Dilbert, Home Movies, Clerks, and God, the Devil, and Bob.  Of those, Futurama actually lasted the longest.  I wonder why there were so many, actually more than the post-Simpsons animation push.

Actually...technically "Home Movies" still has unaired episodes, while "Futurama" finished its run.
