Some of you guys make me sick. I've been going through a lot of these threads, espescially ones that bring into question the possibility of new futurama episodes and half of you are posting stuff like "get real" or "Futurama is DEAD...FOR GOOD...DEAL WITH IT" or "not going to happen, be realistic.". I see these half-asses petitions with 500 signatures dividing the few signers and the people who post "forget it, we sent a petition with 160,000 signatures. they're worthless"

TO HELL WITH THAT! You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless! You gotta to hope even more. And cover your ears and go "BLA BLA BLA BLA, BLA BLA BLA"

How the do you perverted dopes think Family Guy got put back into production? I'll give you a hint, It's not because FG fans "got realistic". Check out the numbers on some of those Family Guy petitions VS some of the Futurama ones.

With FG back in production, Groening appearing on Simpsons AND on Cartoon Network in Futurama related endeavors, good Season 3 DVD sales, and the release of Season 4 on the horizon there is NO better time for us to unite for Futurama. If we can make all of this activity snowball with good DVD sales of Season 4 and a 200,000 signature petition then maybe we'll have a shot!

I may be preaching to the converted here, but then I sayeth, let us scour the unbelievers from our rabid, diehard ranks!

No scouring needed.
In all our hearts, we hope and pray that the show comes back. However, it really isn't incredibly likely. This doesn't mean there is no chance, but we shouldn't be trying to set our selves up for further soul crushing dissapointment. There's only so much our meagre psychs can take! Okay, perhaps prospects don't seem as bleak as they did, say, six months ago, but I wouldn't call this the home stretch.
Also, several of the naysaysers are fairly valued (well, as much as anyone here is valued) members of the PEEL community, and certainly shouldn't be cast out for their worldy cynicism.
Finally... first time posters might do well not to create threads that seem to be made for flaming, replete with excessively long introductory posts... (don't feel bad, they all do it... well I did it...)

I gots credibility! I'm doings my part! (seasons 1-4 DVD, the game, and  I just started with the comics already...)

if you really think about, maybe now is the time for another large scale petition. They caved and brought family guy back, the futurama dvds are doing well and ratings are still decent for adultswim, so if the Fox execs are even thinking about thinking about maybe possibly considering bringing the show back, maybe a second petetion showing them that the futurama fanbase is as rabid as ever could raise an eyebrow or two.

Even if it didn't, you would waste what, only 20 seconds of your life signing the thing?

I'd try again. I've always had that little bit of hope tucked away, just tell me when  :)

yeah i reckon it would be worth trying again. the more ppl we get signin it (even if they don't watch it) would be good. so someone start a petition and put a link to it and everyone sign it and get friends too aswell. we could get them to start making it again.

i think fox is already beginning to cave because on Sky one there is a whole evening of futurama this friday from seven and there are lots of adverts! What i think they are going to do is check the amount of viewers and decide based on that so everyone watch it! OR ELSE!!!

Well, my question to you is this: If this isn't the home stretch then what is? When will there be a better time to start a new petition? Should we wait three years from now to kick, bite, scratch and scream for them to put Futurama back on the air?

What needs to happen before we realize that no matter what you think of the chances, REALISTICALLY they won't get any bigger than they are right now? It will be become exponentially harder with the passage of time to get the show back into production. So everyone afraid of being disappointed need only wait a few years to say with certainty that Futurama is dead.

That said, I'm glad you're doing your part because so am I and obviously so are most of the naysayers. Frankly, it means that we all have the same credibility. So the concept that I would post any differently if I was a vertern PEEL member is silly. It's not like this is my first message board. And it's not as if everytime I join a board I feel compelled to have a long introductory thread.

So what say you to a new petition then?

Hello new petition.

What happened to the old guy, then?

Well, if we could convince the big futurama sites (cgef, tfp, and all those character ones) to advertise it, it may be somewhat successful. I'd be willing to sign something. Also, what Venus said.

Also, maybe try sending a whole bunch of letters/emails to fox asking for a new season? It may or may not do anything at all.

Family Guy didn't get back because of petitions. It got back because of good dvd sales and ratings on Adult Swim. BUT that is all the more reason we should do that more too...

I'm all for a petition.I'm all for watching it every night, and buying the DVDs and comics (Sadly, I only have #14 for comics, but who cares?) But, with the simpsons, with Groening signing the Bender dolls, and saying that he is the creator of Futurama, that might REALLY help along with the "Brinmg Futurama Back!" thing. (The enemy might help!)

Clover, insulting people isn't the way to win them over. I'm all for a new petition, however if it is ok by you i will sign it without much hope of getting futurama back. i reckon thats the least i can do for the show that has brought me so many hours of happiness.

also, venus, you seem pretty well respected, you see if you can convince others to do like someone said.
