First of all thanks for the welcome. I'm a big fan of the Simpsons. And if there is a dilemma of whether to watch the The Simpsons or Futurama I would have to pick Futurama, because almost all the time I was laughting my a$$ off. and with the simpsons i'm not all the time.

Futurama's not dead yet.

Yeah, i would kill to see another Futurama episode. You can never really tell with Fox thought. They could do the same with Futurama as they did with good ol' Family Guy, but it still seems a bit unlikely. Don't get me wrong though, EVERYONE BUY FUTURAMA DVDS SO FOX WILL BRING IT BACK!!! lol

The Wired article is online. It's mainly about Cartoon Network's Mike Lazzo, but here's the relevant part: "Last year, Futurama and Family Guy reruns did so well that it's likely both shows (which Fox killed in prime time) will produce new episodes." The writer doesn't mention any new information, so that sounds a bit too hopeful, given what we've heard before. But maybe things are slowly changing and we just haven't heard anything yet.

What are you on about? The rumour we're discussing is MG being in talks with FOX. @Jackson - Again, it sounds vague. ALlso, we're in the run up to April 1st, and somebody usually tries to pull a "Futurama returns!" gag around this time. However like I said before, it's not totally implausible that Futurama might return to FOX. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I checked Variety but didn't see anything about this. However, I did find an article that said the episode nominated for a WGA Award was called "The String."
By the way, the post in question was made last Thursday, so this isn't something that just came up today. But I still don't know where the information came from.

It would be super duper awesome if Futurama came back. Originally posted by TheLampIncident: Do you guys actually believe a cable network could afford to fund Futurama? Did you also note the hearty laugh they all got after saying that?

That would be good, it seems like fox is desperate to get as many hours of animated programming as they can. It would be nice if most of them weren't simpsons and KotH reruns.
