I'd have to agree with you there. Dan Castellenata was a great guest voice, and the Robot Devil was one of my favourite characters.

I'd say the guy who played the assorted Free Waterfalls...can't remember his name right now, but he's hilarious.

For me it's either E. Gary Gygax or Hank Aaron.

Here's a link to a similar thread.

Oh, and the guy that you're talking about is Phil Hendrie, Shaucker.

Ditto.

Also, even though I'm not a fan of Star Trek, I thought they did a great job in 'Where No Fan Has Gone Before'  :)

Copied from David's link (with a few alterations after watching WNFHGB):

Best: John Goodman as Robot Santa. No competition. Goodman's big booming voice was perfect for that role.

Runner ups: Weaver as the PE ship, Castjelanne Khastillan Caystynaellh.....Danny-boy as Beelzebot and Stephen Hawking (I just love that voicebox-voice), Nimoy

Worst: Lucy Liu (meh), and Pauly Shore (blergh)

Misc: Beck is a bit of mixed feelings, he's not much on the show, but his music is catchy and his appearence turned me into a fan

My favorites are Conan O'Brien and Stephen Hawking

Runner-ups are Al Gore, Nimoy, Dan Castellenata, Beck, Donovan, and, though it wasn't a great episode, Hank Aaron and Bob Uecker.

The worst is Pauly Shore

I vote Dan Castelleneta. I think he was at his best in "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings", but I also liked him in "Hell is other Robots".

Most of the guest stars from AOI1 were great, and for some reason, I loved Rich Little doing Howard Cosell.  The Star Trek cast from WNFHGB was also gold.  The only ones that I didn't like were, as Teral said, Pauly Shore and Lucy Liu.  Most of the guest stars who did new characters were unknown to me, so I'm not including them.  Except for John Goodman, he MADE Santa what he is today (DiMaggio's performance notwithstanding).

Nobody said Al Gore?

"Well, tell 'em I'm in the tub!"

He was hilarious!

Followed closely by Conan O'Brien and Gary Gynax.

Sigourney Weaver and Bea Arthur were excellent in playing roles to which they were probably unaccustomed. I also really liked Rich Little. The beastie Boys weren't too bad either
But my absolute favourites were George Takei and Walter Koening, who I thought really lit up the Star Trek episode

Of course we all agree that the show is just fine without guest stars, right?
Also, I agree that Bea Arthur was great.

My favourite would have to be Dan Castellaneta, followed closely by the star trek crew.

I've also noticed how no-one has mentioned Rosanne Barr...... not that it matters....

He's bad, but just didn't quite annoy me as much as Rosanne's absolutely terribly cringe-worthy speech at the end of '300 Big Boys'...

I'm with Otis on this one.

Pauly Shore actually worked pretty well in that episode.  Having Fry hero-worship him showed how pathetic Fry is and how bad his taste in actors is.  Also, Michelle dumping him at the end of the episode has more impact, because she left him for a loser like Pauly Shore.

By contrast, Rosanne's appearance adds nothing at all to the episode she appeared in.

Yeah, good point. All she does is explain what ambergris is. It could just be my disdain for "The Cryonic Woman" vs. my enjoyment of "300 Big Boys" that makes Pauly seem like the worse one.

The fact that I like "300 Big Boys" just makes me dislike Rosanne's appearance in it even more.  It's one of those episodes that would be nearly perfect, if not for one irritating flaw.

As for Pauly Shore, he's like Gunther and Cubert.  You weren't supposed to like him; that was the whole point.

David A actually has some good points here. I won't make excuses for Pauly Shore, but not only did Rosanne add nothing at all of any value to the episode, she actually took away from it, right at the end, just when we thought we were safe! As if her earlier pointless babble didn't cause enough damage, she then lowered us into a false sense of security, just as our wounds were starting to heal, in the credits! And then comes back for more!...
