I don't know it's just the way he says it is so funny, also when Dwight says it in 'The Route Of All Evil'.
Maybe I just like it becsaue all my mates hate Futurama and that's the only part of it they like!

Maybe "Manwich" is supposed to be a funny word. I really didn't like the joke either, aslate.

A manwich is a sloppy joe with a brand name.

I just love the sound of Hermes saying it.

And who can possibly not laugh at Farnsworth spraying the fish pheromones with the can facing the wrong way, and all the fish sticking to his face followed by Zoidberg...

"I'm so into you!"  *sucks on head*

Best scene of the episode I think.

As second best I'd like to add Fry saying "Bigger than anything you've caught" to Bender, followed by an impression of his laugh. Scene changes as you hear Bender's fishing line extending *BOP* "Ow!"

Amy burns Leela yet again in this episode...

"Ah, so this is where you shop for your boots?"

I know what a Manwich is, I just wasn't sure as to how Hermes referencing it was funny. However, on the commentary, I love how David Cohen is talking about his dad and such, then:

Matt Groening: Great! These audio commentaries were totally worthless!...

Rich Moore: And now we missed the Manwich joke!

And then a little later in the commentary:

David X. Cohen: "Unbreakable diamond filament" is from Arthur C. Clarke...

Rich Moore: Did you dad tell you that one too?

 DXC: Stop- stop hitting me!

 *slap slap slap*  :laff:

Actually, "The Deep South" commentary was pretty good as well, even though they seem to run out of steam towards the end. Funny how the Groening/Cohen/Moore/Burns/Haaland/Vanzo/West/DiMaggio group of commentators seems to have not much to say in the Season 2 commentaries.  :o

I loved the whole "Stop-stop hitting me!" thing. As I've stated elsewhere, David Cohen is definitely one of my favorites on the commentaries.

Billy West: My dad was a dancer.
John DiMaggio: Yeah?
Billy West: Yeah, he died dancing on the end of a rope!

Did Billy steal that joke from somewhere? I liked it anyway just for how John and Rich laugh at it afterwards but I do wonder where Billy gets some of these jokes sometimes...

I wasn't sure on that either. Billy is a funny guy, but he may have gotten it from somewhere. Also:

David Cohen: When this episode aired, they retype the credits so that they can fit on the side of the screen. And, when this episode aired, they retyped the credits so they said "Guest Starring: Donovan Parker and Posey."

Laughs

Cohen: Thanks guest-stars!

Rich Moore: We want ya' back Posey!

Not the exact wording, but you get the point.

Someone said that it was offensive to Georgians, but...I'M A GEORGIAN! I live in one of Atlanta's suburbs, and I wasn't offended at all...The dude with the shotgun was weird, though...    I loved the jokes about the Coca-Cola factory (which I've actually never visited) and of course, the Hartsfield jokes (screw Delta anyway!) Actually I always fly on Delta...What was I talking about again?

They said on the commentary that they got a letter from somebody in Atlanta saying they'd got it spot on, and I think a couple of CGEF reviews said similar things too. I thought that was pretty cool.

I'm not sure if I would have been offended by it. I'm not a Georgian, but I'm pretty sure some people took great offense at the references. Personally, I thought that they were funny, especially the cracks at the Coke plant and the airport.

Actually, regarding all this talk about the commentary, I'd have to say it might've been more entertaining then the episode.  :laff:  One of the better season two commentaries.

I thought the episode was great the first time I saw it. I was living in Atlanta at the time, so it was a lot of fun to see them poking fun at the city.

After multiple viewings, my impression of the quality of this episode has declined a bit. The humor is still wonderful, but I don't think it stands up to some of the better episodes in Season 2.

Beats me. But they had Leela in there pretty much asking that same question so either it's a non-sequiter or a very obscure reference few people will get.

I didn't get it either, until I heard "Atlantis" for the first time.

As for the Magician, I didn't really find it funny, even when I know the reference. I just love the sound of Donavan's voice, and the way his low-key register makes jokes funnier. Such as:

"And also Jane Fonda was there."

I'm pretty sure that that's the line.

Dammit, nobody is going to post one. Was there an assigned episode chooser, or can I do it? If I can do it, I choose Fry and the Slurm Factory, one of the great classics.

My input on it is that the Grunka Lunka songs and everyone's hatred of them ("Tell them I hate them!", "SHUT THE HELL UP!", etc) was pure comical genious.

Okay, it's almost Monday, so I'll post the new episode:

This Week: "The Problem With Popplers"

I'm actually surprised that this episode ranked this high, but I still like it. If you don't tell me why not.

This episode was one of the best of season 2. The Omicronians were really funny, especially Lrrr after he ate Free Waterfall Jr. Free Waterfall was hilarious, especially shutupshutupshutup...

This was one of my favorite episodes, at least based on the one time I saw it.  A lot of great jokes at the expense of Free Waterfall Jr. and his radical views (the tofu-eating lion was hilarious), and Lrrr was excellent in it as well.

Like I said, this one wasn't a favorite, but I loved the Dateline parody with Linda, Fishy Joe, Leela, and Freewaterfall Jr.:

Freewaterfall Jr.:You're all nuts, shut-up and let me talk!

Linda: You shut-up, please.

The Problem With Popplers funniest moment came from the ending when Lrr was high.

Lrr: Ohhh, I think there was something funny in that hippie. People of earth(Eyes dialate)oh, I think hippies starting to kick in. I realize now that........... dude, my hands are HUGE! They can touch anything but themselves. Oh wait.

Nd-nd: Let's go.

Lrr looks at cape, then feels it.

Lrr: Whoa!(later is flying away) Oh, I feel like i'm flying.

Funniest part in all of season 2.

I just can't stop talking about commentaries, but...
In season 1's commentary for "When Aliens Attack", Ken Keeler talked abot Lrr and his cape. All of the staff thought it was hilarious, and so do I.
