Whose death would be most tragic?

One think I don't like about TV shows is when they kill off a popular or well-liked or well-known character i. e. Maude from the Simpsons.  So wouldn't it be tragic to have one of the popular PE crew members died off?  Which loss would be the worst?

It is hard to decide, w/o Fry and Leela there is no romance, but w/o Bender and Zoidberg there is no comedy.  Fry is the star, but Leela is the heart of the show.

The reason for this topic is that I've read fanfics where they have one of the main characters die. I have respect for the writers who do them, but it is just so sad because the fanfics are so well-written.

leela - she keeps the gang together, and safe, for that matter. fry would be devestated and unable to carry on living. the delivery buisness would have no captain, so the professor would go bankrupt and hermes would be busted down for letting it happen. and bender would lose the only person who liked his in your face interface.

i know you meant tragic story wise, but i'm voting character wise.

Leela's death would be the most tragic because Fry wouldn't be able to handle it. It would destroy him. He loves her way to much to deal with losing her.

Fry would probably kill himself. Leela reacted badly when Fry 'died' (it was a dream but...), but just imagine how Fry would react if Leela was killed... it would be sadder than Jurrasic Bark...

Yeah I agree with Venus story wise Frys Leelas death would be worse, but I personally would be most saddened by Fry's death.

True; but at the very least this should be moved to human resources.

Why isn't anyone voting for Bender?  Remember his deaths in the "AOI" episodes?  That was tragedy.

I think the death of either Fry, Leela, or Bender would kill the show, since a big part of many of the eps revolve around one or more of these characters.

Probably Fry, although it would certainly been JTS if Fry, Bender, or Leela died.

Amy, Professor, or Zoidberg dying would be potential JTS, but its possible the show could go one without them.

Same with Hermes although less so.   I think Scruffy dying is something the show could manage.

Fry is a pivitol character, and while the death of Leela would be tragic, Fry's (not) dealing with it could be an interesting character curve.

Also Fry is apparently the most important person in the universe. Unless his dying was part of the Niblonians plans then they wasted their time.

Actually, thinking about it, Nibbler did refer to Leela as 'the other' or something similar. Maybe one or both of their deaths is vital for the future of the universe.

If Leela died, not only would there be no captain for the PE ship, which would mean no space travel, but Fry would break down like Leela in The Sting, and Amy wouldn't be able to make those jokes like "So this is where you shop for your boots!" or "Do they come in women's sizes?"

This is a tie between Fry and Leela. Fry is the heart of the show, while Leela is the one who keeps it all together. They're both such important characters and without them, there would be no show. No matter how many great Bender and Zoidberg lines there are, no matter how funny the Professor and the rest are, there would be no Futurama without the Fry/Leela dynamic.

Tie between Fry & Leela, but I voted Fry b/c Leela is in the lead. I think the show could move on without Bender, because well, quite frankly there are thousands of robots exactly the same as him, and we see in HHRHGB that his personality can easily be transferred to another Bender Bot.

ima vote leela, even tho if fry died it would be so tragic that the show wouldnt really be possible, unless a new main character was identified oddly...
