Thanks John C for the help. I have a question though? What is this Futurama movie I hear of? Also Family Guy is coming back so what if Futurama's sales pick up like crazy?

It's a harsh, harsh reality. Futurama will never be back in any capacity besides comics.

when all hope is lost you have to keep hoping and plug your ears and go lalalalalalalala. I know that's not the exact qoute but I'm sure someone will correct me then I can edit it.

Not that it matters but the quote is as follows. "You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless, you've got to hope even more and cover your ears and go blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!"

Adult Swim seems to have done good for Family Guy. Until now I thought that Futurama was doing pretty well, also. At least in my area it's descently popular.

Yeah, they caust around 1 million dollars each. And theres no way CN has that kind of a budget. Just makes me wish they would have ended it better.

Originally posted by Professie: I've been reading some interviews with the Futurama crew and I think one of them said something about them wanting to make a movie. It's very cheep to make a Futurama movie although it's very expensive to make each ep. Also, I think (repeat THINK) that CN are interested in making Futurama eps. Although I may be completely wrong. Both Matt Groening and David X Cohen are very interested in making a movie (some even say a trilogy), the problem is still one of funding. While Futurama is very expensive compared to other tv shows, a movie would be pretty cheap compared to other cartoon movies. But that still mean someone have to be willing to finance the whole thing, and without a decent chance of making profit the chance is very small. CN is our biggest ally in this, to bad they don't have the money, or when they do have the money use it to produce cheap shows aimed at younger audiences. lfv once said CN was about to blow 250+ million dollar on new cartoons, but since their target audience is kids, there where no funds for Adult Swim.

I'd say a film (or trilogy) is more likely, because chances of the show coming back on FOX are miniscule. They really, genuinely seem to hate the show, and unless the DVDs sold a billion copies, FOX wouldn't even consider bringing it back. Cartoon Network may still have a chance to bring Futurama back, but this also seems unlikely because a cable network bringing back such a high-budget show would be incredibly expensive. Sorry to be the barer of bad news.....

It is being renewed because it has a large fan-base and, in the words of Lisa Simpson (I probably shouldn't quote her, but I like The Simpsons), "You'll never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator." I'm not saying all of Family Guy's fans are crude, but alot are.
