Spoilers Ho! Professor Farnsworth gets caught cheating on his taxes, and the PE crew has one week to raise a million dollars. After various attempts (such as Amy's bikini car wash ), they're still short. So, Fry decides to go on Morbo's gameshow, "Who's Dying to Become a Gazillionaire", where if you miss a question, you DIE... as yet another member of the Free Waterfall family discovers. The cover is a "What's Wrong with this Scene"-type thing, with Fry, Leela, Bender, and Amy sitting in for OFF, and Milhouse as Nibbler.

Hey, are the Futurama comic books actually good/entertaining/funny? (I'm asking because the Simpsons comic strip was very disappointing.) I've never seen them... but then again, I haven't really looked. Are they even available in Canada?

Forbidden Planet don't actually seem to stock Futurama comics. You could try Sub City.

I went to the comic store today, but fuckitall, Futurama #5 was sold out. It sucks that I can't read it now, but I guess it's cool that Futurama-related products are selling well, in my area at least. I settled for the last issue, the one with Zapp. Here's my review, since for the life of me I can't find the Futurama #4 thread. It was funnier than I expected, probably because Kryten's review really lowered my hopes. It had it's problems though. Some random points:
-A lot of it seemed ripped off from other episodes. People pointing out that Leela had sex with Zapp=overdone. Also Bender taking valuable belongings with the promise of returning them to a dying soldier's relative. Hello, writer? Haven't you seen War Is The H-Word?
-Zapp's flare was sexy as hell. I love it. I wish I had a nice picture of that, without the smokey flarey effect that's in the comic book drawing(hint to the fan/scan-artists).
-Kif being jealous of Zapp's new right-hand man was a funny idea, but they could have carried it off better.
-The art was mostly good, but some of the characters' bodies were drawn disproportionately. What's the deal with that?
-I saw Anicorn in the letters page...is she still around?
Overall I'd say it's about as good as issue #1.

I haven't read the strip, so I can't make a comparison. But I think the Futurama comics are about as funny as The Simpsons comic books. Passable adaptions. (though I must admit, I've only read a handful of Simpsons comics, and I only have two Futurama issues)
