Here's a question for the many, many people without lives who listen to the DVD commentaries, watch the deleted scenes and animatics, and look at the storyboards and scripts included on the 4 Futurama DVDs. Have you ever seen or heard about a scene/joke/plot twist that wasn't used in an episode and thought "Dammit, the episode would've been much better with that in"? If so, what was it? (And as a bonus question, what would you have cut in order to fit it into the episode?) I personally would've liked to have kept the deleted scenes with the Professor and Flexo in Bendless Love. Although I'm not sure what I'd cut in order to keep them. Eric Horsted's episodes always have a lot of good dialogue in them.

I don't know about the honey-glazed scene. "Why am I sticky and naked? Did I miss something fun?" is a lot cuter and more in-character for Fry in my opinion.

"Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch": I would've kept the "Veins" McCay (that's the Nimbus doc, btw) scene, the one where the Grand Midwife mistake Zapp for the pregnant one and definetely the scene from Ozorgnax where Amy tell Leela she think of her as an older sister, and Leela's reply is "Awww, that's sweet. ... How much older?"
As for what to cut? Hell, I don't know, the episode is rife with great jokes I'd be very reluctant to cut. Maybe something from the baby shower.
And I agree with Venus, that scene in TDHAIP should definetely be there. It was cute as hell. Eidt: Spoilerfied for those who don't own the season 4 DVD's. Get them, get them now! You wont regret it.

I actually have no idea what the scene looks like. Here's what they said in the commentary (with spoiler tags for people who don't want to see it yet): DXC: Oh by the way, I always felt this ending really worked. I always felt a tear in my eye when they cut to the hospital. (Leela and Fry's "shower" joke) And we then, at the last minute realised 'Wait a minute! We can get the emotion and a little joke.' And I believe that was Matt Groening's suggestion and we got one last victory over anyone who thought they weren't gonna laugh again. MG: Cutting the treacle! BS: So you cut the bee landing on the flower at the end. PMV: Yes, that's gone. MG: Are you still bitter? BS: I am Mr. Bitter! Make of that what you will. I just assumed it was a cuter ending he was referring to. With Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch, there was a lot of good stuff cut out, but to me it feels like in order for that episode to have been a classic with that storyline it would've had to have been an hour long. So I would've tried a different plot.

Oh, this scene from "Less Than Hero" absolutely, positively need to be in there: Morris, Leg-mutant and Raoul are fishing in Lake Mutagenic.
Leg-mutant: " I mean, basically the car drives okay, I just wish it had more leg-room." Raoul: (Fishing wheel spins) "Oooh, I caought something." (He reels it in, revealing a giant worm on the hook, with a human head) Raoul: "Oh, false alarm. Just the bait mutating." Bait: "Howdy." (Raoul throws it back in.) Just for the Leg-mutant joke. Dump any Zoo-keeper scene.

Yeah, I tend to stay up late. Afterall I have at least 3.5 hours 'til I have to be at work, and.... Oh, God I forgot to sleep!! His name is Leg-mutant. Even David X Cohen refers to him as such.

I think Danes might all be creatures of the night. Anyway, I have to go with Venus et al. and vote for deleted scene with Fry and Leela from The Devil's Hands. So very cute.

Agreed. That was great. On a season 4 tip, here's two more things I'd like to have kept in: Leela's Homeworld There are two great deleted scenes from this episode: the one where the three-armed mutant dunks a rat into the toxic waste and it mutates into a peacock and he exclaims "That was a fluke! That almost never happens! There's only a 1% chance of that happening!" Then they dunk a backup rat, which mutates into the hideous pig/fish creature.
The other scene is when Warden Vogel offers Fry some dirt on the other orphans: "This one drinks out of the toilet...and this one was conceived when a sperm bank truck crashed into an egg donation clinic!" I would've kept both these scenes and cut the dot matrix printer joke, the plaques on the orphanarium wall and...well, quite a few others. Many of the jokes in that episode weren't that good. Obsoletely FabulousThere's a scene where Mom's head talks to the robots on the conveyor belt and another scene later on when the power goes out and Amy falls off the treadmill into Scruffy's lap. I would've gone for these instead of the extended whistling of the rocks during the attack on PE.

From "Where No Fan Has Gone Before"
(While fleeing from Melllvar, Leela is at the helm Zapp and Bender (carrying Shatner's head-in-a-jar stand next to her) Zapp Brannigan: "Leela, this situation call for testosteron! Straight up, no cleavage. Anything else would be sabotage."
Cut the Jim Carrey movies joke.

The deleted scene in Xmas Story where Dr. Zoidberg doesn't get Conan O'Brian's jokes. Okay, so it wasn't that funny - but it makes his "We can only hope!" line later on in the episode a lot funnier.

Raging BenderThey should have kept the plot where Bender defeted Destructor by climbing inside him and finding the janitor to know where to shut him off Birdbot of Ice-catrazZoidberg: The captains table! What an honur! Fry:Zoidberg, why do you haveto be such a suck-up? Zoidberg:I love people that have power over me!*hugs himself*brrrrr The Cyber House Rulesthe part at the dinner table: PF:Adalai, are your intentions pure? Adalai:Ofcourse! PF.You didn't let me finnish! What i wante'd to say was, are your intentions pure evil! To create a race of atomic man-apes that obey your comand at every whim!! Cus...mine aaaare... Leelas HomeworldThe dirt on the other orphans, particulary this one:"This one was concived when a sperm donation truck crashed into an egg donation clinic!" The StingThe part when Fry spawns out of the space gelly, mainly beacuse Leela shows real affection twoards him. She leaps out and hugs him complete with a kiss, says(aside form the original line)"mmm, and your honey glazed" drags her finger sweetly across his cheek and looks rather seductive. But they should have kept the "Did i miss something fun line" The Devils Hands are Idle Play ThingsThe part where Leela and Fry stand on the balcony and a date is planed... That scean just HAD to be there

*bump* My favourite deleted scene that they should've kept is the scene from a Pharoah to Remember when Scruffy s spinning a plate on his broom... When this plate's-a-spinning, folks start-a-grinning. That line makes me laugh every time I see it, it's just so random... What I would have cut to fit that in? Commercials!
