What was the first episode (or season) to use the new version of the theme song.

It different from the Mars University theme.  It like the original but with a faster tempo.

If memory serves... Mars U, Bender should not be allowed on TV and 300 Big Boys Spanish Fry have alternate themes, but Mars U was the first...

EDIT : FIXED

I didn't mean the alternate themes.  The later seasons have a slightly version of the opening theme than the early ones.  I was wondering I was wanting to know where to place it on my CD I'm making.

Nah, guy, i've just compared by DVD copy of SP3K to a VHS of "The Why of Fry" and they sound exactly the same.

Actually, there is a slight difference between early and late episode theme tunes. The speed has decreased in later episodes, but only slightly...

Hmmm... You could be right, Otis. I'm probably not hearing it because of the quality difference. In that case, it's probably Production Season 4 in which the change happens, as it still sounds the same on "Roswell".

But hey, it's hardly likely to affect TalaxianHunter's CD with such a little difference as that.

Was it Season related though? I just thought that some episodes had the theme slowed down slightly and some didn't, but there was no real chronological order to it.

Is it like the time compression thing to gain(or fill, I guess, if you do it backwards) more time? I've never noticed it myself, though. Could anyone give an specific example of episodes with and without the slowed theme, so's that I can hear for myself?

Hmm, you're not from Australia are you? Our recent seasons have been sped up slightly most of the time... resulting in a slighty higher pitch...

Rage Dump it's bloody Channel 7 screwing with us again....

Although I have noticed the slow down on some intros....top of my head errr, Season 1 I think there was a couple....I found it annoying really....the song is perfect the way it is/was....

Hey there is a real cool 4 min Futurama Theme Remix on the net...
I dunno who made it but it sounds real cool..
What he/she did was to combine every part of the theme (ending and begining) and added some percussion(sp?) drums in it..
Sweet..

S1-S2 had a slightly different theme to S3 and S4.

You have the Mars University remix, the beatbox to "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV" and alternate end credit music. There's also another remixed S4 similar to Bender Should not be allowed on TV, but i can't remember that one.
