I thought it was funny to see Fry in sleeper bag pajamas when he got caught by the aliens in Spanish Fry.  Why did the writers make him wear the kind little kids would wear and not regular ones?

I guess they just thought it was funny.  Feety jammies are always funny.  And usually he just wears his underwear to bed, so I guess they wanted him wearing more.

Why though?
They've made Amy (and possibily Leela too) wear err..
considerably much less.  :)

The feety pajamas thing was hilarious. It was cute but a little imbarassing to even watch. Either way it was a good idea. I think they did it to show Fry's more kiddish side.To show his more vaulnerable side.

Well, they're attractive females.  And yes, Amy is naked in the tent, and Leela might be too (though I guess she could be in her underwear):

But I think Leela would usually wear a sensible gown:

Leela has several sets of sleepwear. In LLLIS she wore a strappy top and panties, she could be wearing those.

Not to mention the purple sleepwear she wore in Love & Rocket.

But the important thing to remember here is that Amy is definitely naked.  Of that there can be no doubt.

Ah, now there's something we can all enjoy.

Second. [/scruffy]

Besides, I thought Fry's pajamas were pretty funny and rather necessary for the scene. It would be too weird to show him walking around in the forest in just his underwear.

Hmmm... Fry's pajamas may actually be a reference to Family Guy, and how much TV Fry watched. Look:

Noth are blue feety's with zippers down the middle and - oddly enough - collars. Cool.

Actually, maybe Fry's pajamas were in reference to ME--I mean, I love feety pajamas. I think the muppet babies wore them from time to time too. CURSE YOU KERMIT.

How do you know for sure that Amy is completely naked again?

Me thinks you just wish it was true so much...

I dunno, winna.  It seems pretty obvious that Amy's naked.  Watch that scene again, and you'll see what I mean.

She might just be wearing incredibly tight see-through clothes... But then again, what would be the difference?  :p

Also, Spooner - I highly doubt that it's a Family Guy reference. Those types of pajama's were around well before Family Guy, and Family Guy isn't exactly the type of show that Futurama would reference anyway.

However, you are correct in the fact that it's mainly worn by babies - and I think we can all agree that it's just a joke about how Fry has a young mind, and I'm amazed that this thread hasn't been closed yet.

it's a play on "Spanish Fly" i'm not really sure what that is, but it's a really powerful aphrodisiac.

It's from an urban legend called the Spanish fly. It was said that if you put the Spanish fly(which, like Venus said, was a powerful aphrodisiac) in someones food itt would make them...you know. So the title to Spanish Fry is just a play on words like most other Futurama titles.
