A question for all the people that have experience with MPEGs.

The problem is, that the resolution of an MPEG episode is 352x240 (ratio 1:1.46), and so is the resolution of a converted divX.

The difference is, that the MPEG is displayed fullscreen, but the divX-AVI is not.  :p It seems that my video driver automatically converts the 1:1.46 MPEG to 1:1.33, but not the divX-AVI.

At this point I have three options.

1) Leave the divX-AVI at 1:1.46 (352x240)
2) Decrease resolution to match 1:1.33 (320x240)
3) Increse resolution to match 1:1.33 (352x264)

What do you think I should do?

Maybe you could just fiddle with the controls on the bottom of your monitor when you are watching Furutama...

So this is the answer of the so called upcoming intellectual elite of the future, if it can so be called.  :D

I think I'll stick with 320x240.

Indeed that's what I do. <Activating G.E.E.K. mode> The problem here is that a TV screen has a resolution of 720x480 (NTSC) with rectangular (not square) pixels. Since your computer monitor uses between 640x80 to 1600x1200 (maybe more) with SQUARE pixels, you can either resize the video or just mess with the monitor controls so you make your pixels just a little more taller. It'll look better if you use the monitor's controls, because if you decompress the AVI, resize it, then compress again, it'll get more artifacts. <Disabling G.E.E.K. mode>

Read you later,
Leandro.
