they kinda screwed all season 1 titles when translating ... :

1. Time and Space 3000
2. His first Flight to the Moon
3. Apartment Search in New New York (first "new" is in german, second isnt ...)
4. encounter with Zapp Brannigan
5. Planet of the Robots
6. The Secret of the Anchovies
7. The Galaxy of Terror
8. Garbage lets you become inventive

hey hey, just passing on the information!

someone said that its not the real thing though.  Someone said the person who put all the information together is like crap at it, and that the voices dont match the speaking etc

I don't think this is fake and I don't know why everyone thinks it's fake.  It looks real and it was made by fox. Done and done.

I think Zapp was talking about the german dubbing.
The responsible "guy" (50 something) manages to call himself a professional translator speaking fluent english and yet doesnt get the difference between awful and awesome. The jokes die like flies in his hands.
The Voiceactors for the dubbing were poorly chosen to say the least. we got a boring fry (got some better in season 2 i hear, cant verify cause i gave up watching the german dub). Leela is emotionless even in emotional situations. bender has the voice of krusty the clown And the translators son reads the freeze frame fun as an off voice("you mother so fat").
I myself would never buy those videos, even if i had a vcr

Heh. I once saw an article about how movie titles are translated Chinese and other languages. "Babe" was called "The Happy Little Dumpling-to-be"...

but they did accept and use some title proposals from teh german newsgroup for season 2. nevertheless, the german dub is unwatchable for those who know how good futurama can get in english...

youre right mArc it really is unwatchable or unbearable or inacceptable or unlovable...!!

           

like in "a head in the polls" i watched yesterday(original of course) they translated "welcome to the golden age of mutton chops" wrong....they wrote about the meat in the german EP.....they screw up most of the jokes even those which could be translated.....i should apply for the job  ...those jerkbags

I'm pretty sure those are fake. Kinda like those translations of American movie titles into other languages... "Shrek", for example, becomes "The Smelly Green Man in Love", and "Planet of the Apes" becomes "Gorillas Let the Ending Make No Sense".

I'm afraid, those are not fake. [mArc] took the actual Germna titles an translated them back. But the titles are excellent compared to the translation!
One thing to add regarding the German titles: "Alone against the robot-mafia" was probably taken give credit to the Italian eighties mini-seriens "Alone against the mafia".
