I watched an American version of 'Bender should not be allowed on TV' the other night and the intro music had Bender rapping over the top of it. I've never seen this on any of the other European episodes. Are all US episodes done in this fashion or was it a one-off special?

Very cool whatever it was though.

Knackers, welcome to PEEL!

That one song was just for that episode. BTW, agree it was waaaay cool!   :D

Another last season episode had a Rap group, I believe, do their mix of the intro song too.

Prof_Funkstein - I think you're thinking of Spanish Fry, which had a beat-box remix. I've heard it was done by Billy West and John Dimaggio, but I can't confirm that. Also, I have yet to see BSNBAOTV, so I can't confirm anything on that one either.

Oh yeah, there was a remix of the theme on Mars University too.

There were four different opening theme variations.

- "Mars University": Remixed, sounded really cool in my opinion as a one-off.

- "Spanish Fry": No music, just Billy West (Fry, Zoidberg, Farnsworth, etc..) and John DiMaggio (Bender, Elzar, etc...) beatboxing and generally being a bit nuts.

- "Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV": Beatboxing over the main theme. A whole lotta fun.

It's stretching it, but also - "Put Your Head On My Shoulders": Turn on the DVD audio commentary and you're treated to Billy and John once again doing their thang live over the opening and closing credits. Honestly, truly hilarious.

The version of "Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV" which I saw had the beatboxing intro, and i'm in the UK. It was a last-minute change apparently, as that opening remix was supposed to air at the start of a different episode (which escapes me right now) which might explain why you didn't get it.

Just to stretch it even more, on the DVD audio commentary for "A Pharoah To Remember", John DiMaggio (as Bender) and Billy West (as Fry) improv some lyrics during the closing credits.
