saw this today at www.darkhorizons.com  (a movie and tv info/rumour site)

The Simpsons (TV): There's been deaths, scandals, crushes, etc. Now apparently at an Angelo State University lecture last night, Producer Mike Reiss revealed one of the main characters would have "gay sex" this season but NOT one of the kids. There's also a slim chance of the now-cancelled "Futurama" characters appearing.

what do all of you think?

Fry, Leela and the whole gang (especially Zoidy) with yellow skin? Hmmmmmm..
Dosen't sound too appealing in my opinion. They would probaly have to feature Leela with 2 eyes. HEy i think they could feature Fry delivering a pizza to thier house. Cameo role or something.

Reread the second sentence. This was already posted at the No Homers Club and was promptly shot down as one of Mike Reiss' twisted jokes. Never take anything Reiss says seriously.

Besides, it's already happened - Fry appeared in the "pneumatic tube" couch gag for "HOMR", and Bender appeared in both "Missionary: Impossible" and "Bart Vs. Lisa Vs. the Third Grade".

Sounds like complete crap to me. Although I always thought it'd be cool if the Robot Devil made an appearance.

Yeh that would be cool one problem how would they fit it into the story lines unless they made it in one of there many tree house of horror eposoides...

I think it's crap. It's a rumor on DarkHorizons, which is only slightly more trustworthy than a rumor on AICN. Ignore it, because I doubt it'll happen. Plus, it doesn't make sense for either, continuity wise.

They've already finished all of the episodes for the new season, so I don't know what it means by there being a chance; if there was a major appearance we'd have heard about it already.  Probably we'll just see small cameos like before, if they appear at all.

I think it's crap, at least I hope it is. But in these desperate times The Simpsons is going though, I wouldn't put anything past them  :hmpf:

Uh oh...now I suddenly remember the Simpsons/the Critic cross-over. :shudder:

Matt Groening hated the Critic crossover and took his name off of it.  Yeah, Groening doesn't have the power to say "no" to a crossover, but they would never want to do something that would piss him off that much again.  Actually, given that Futurama was his show, I suppose he DOES have veto power anyways.

If Reiss is even serious AT ALL (and as Jesse X. said, never take anything he says seriously), it'll just be quick cameo or something, maybe the kids watching Futurama on tv at the most.

In any case, any publicity is good publicity, let's just cross our fingers and hope for the best. Maybe only Fry will show up in a cameo role, but say a few funny lines or something and pick people's curiosity again. And besides, the simpsons are out of fresh ideas anyway, so maybe it's possible. Not likely, not even probable, but still possible.

The Simpsons/Futurama crossover comic series (2 issues) was fun, but I can't see a full-blown Simpsons crossover episode... given that Fox cancelled our beloved series... but the idea sounds fun, though.  :D

I think its best ot leave Futurama characters in Futurama. It could ruin their "character" once those Simpsons writers get their hands on them.

Yes, yes it is.  Let Futurama rest in peace, we dont need any crossovers, just think about how disappointing a crossover would be with the Simpsons present staff.  It couldn't be a good one, if anything it would a cheap plug by FOX to get people to buy the DVDs or something.  Just think of all the angry threads that would flood PEEL if a crossover did happen.

We've already established that an official crossover wont happen, so that's not even worth discussing.  Again, the most that would happen would be Bart and Lisa watching Futurama on tv or something.  Nothing much different from the cameos they've had before, basically.  Groening has already said that he doesn't ever want to do a crossover.

The only one I can think of is the tube gag with fry popping out onto the couch for a brief second.

There's others:

Bender in the Fox Fundraiser in Missionary: Impossible

Bart's Tv hallucination in class in Bart vs. Lisa and the Third Grade included Bender as well.

Someone at the dot-com offices had a Horrible Gelatenous Blob figure in I am Furious Yellow

In Helter Shelter, Comic Book Guy's apartment had a Bender figure in it.

I've heard Kif shows up in the opening to THOH X(Kang and Kodos' stand up routine), but I'm not sure.

Not sure if this counts, but Uter wore a Futurama shirt in Mayored to the Mob.  And THOH IX had David Cohen listed as David "Watch Futurama" Cohen

All I can think of at the moment.

There's one on Aliens Unlimited (Geocities)

Aliens Unlimited also have other exemples of Futurama/Simpsons crossover, although DotheBartman already listed them.

Does anybody have a screen shot of the Horrible Gelatinous Blob figure in I Am Furious Yellow or the Bender figure in Helter Shelter?  I never heard of or noticed those before.  Or the alleged Kif appearence in Treehouse of Horrors X.  The sites haven't been updated.

I don't have a screenshot, but if season 14 should be showing in syndication soon, and if your Fox affiliate is anything like mine they're running seasons 10-13 ad nauseum already.

Leela has too much class to appear in a 15th season Simpsons episode.  :D

That, or Fry and Bender are more recognizable to casual viewers and thus more people would get the joke if they are used.

J. Stewart Burns must have lowered his "class" considerably too, given that he wrote one of the best episodes ever recently.

I own "I Am Furious (Yellow)", "Helter Shelter", and "Treehouse of Horror X" on video. The Horrible Gelatinous Blob sighting is false - it's a Space Mutant toy (anyone who watches "The Simpsons" regularly knows about Space Mutant movies), and I don't recall seeing Kif or anyone who resembled him in the Centauri City crowd. And as for the Bender figure in CBG's apartment...

Well, I sure don't see it anywhere, do you?

I don't see it, either.  They must be false sightings.  The space mutant toy and H.G. Blob look somewhat similar to each other, so it'd be easy to see where someone would get them confused.

Sorry 'bout the false call on the Blob.  Forgot it was a Space Mutant.  Good call Jesse.  Kif I guess I'm not sure about.  I never noticed him myself (and wont, since I can't be bothered to watch that horrible THOH again), but I read that he appeared in the SNPP capsule.  As for Bender, look at the middle shelf in the first shot, its right under that white ship (which actually looks like one of the early Millenium Falcoln model prototypes, though I'm not sure if its intended or if Battlestar Gallactica really did rip off Star Wars that much). Its actually unlear to me, both on my tape (I just checked it) and on that screenshot given the distance if its Bender or not, but it might be. In the second, more close up shot, there is another figure sitting next to the possible prototype ship, and in this case it is very clearly Bender.  That image is incredibly blurry, but on my tape he comes in fairly clearly.  You can even see his stomach/chest door.

the recent bender was realy well done too. He didn't look "simpsonized" like fry and jay sherman were.
if futurama being named counts, there is the pipley faced teen who tryed to kill himself when futurama died.
