the theme wasn't actually in a commercial, but on a commercial for a company called NYSE (i don't know anymore than the company name), that i saw a little past 10pm on ABC.  The music on the commercial used some of the same instruments as the futurama theme, and had many similarities, down to the basic melody.  I think the music was influenced by the Futurama theme.  Did anybody else hear it?

well, there were bells, but i heard other similar instruments (i'm not sure if that's what to call it cause they are synthisized sounds and all).  There were close similarities between instruments, but also in the structure of the song.  Both had the same basic rythm and beat.

the futurama theme at the beginning, is quite a popular song played commonly by high school bands. I cant remember the name, but i think its 'louie louie' I could be wrong.

As far as I know, it is the Kingsmens "Louie Louie" played with different instruments.

Would that be the completely incomprehensible version or the half comprehensible version?

The Futurama theme song is not totally original, mind you. It was actually taken from a song called "Psyche' Rock" back from the 60's, and has seen many popular remixes by artists like Fatboy Slim. So, sorry to disappoint, but the theme song to Futurama was inspired by something else anyway..
